Left Brain/Right Brain

Dear Right Brain,

Please quit screwing up our blog! I can’t believe that post you wrote on April 19 about the La Mer skin cream. Do you even read what you’re posting? Do I have to start reviewing everything you write on this blog?

The reader asked if those expensive products are any better than the drug store brands, and you responded in very generic terms regarding the fact that their ingredients didn’t have any “magical” properties. Maybe that’s true, but unless you specifically test their formulation you don’t really know how performs, isn’t that right?

It’s one thing to make a judgment call just based on reviewing marketing claims, but if we’re doing “real science” in this blog, then we’d damn well better make sure we’re basing our judgments on sound scientific evidence.

I anxiously await your response.

Signed, Left Brain

Forget the earlier arguement, I have to admit you did a pretty good job explaining shampoo ingredients and how they clean your hair.

But it was kind of half – assed , because you didn’t talk about conditioning shampoos at all . Go back and read your first post on the subject – you talked about conditioning ingredients in a shampoo .

But when you got down to your final post on the subject which was supposed to be about how shampoos work ! You made no mention of conditioning whatsoever . I think that’s just a little bit sloppy to our readership , don’t you ?

Let me know which you think .
Signed , left brain .

Right brains responds :
Look , I was just trying to keep the post fairly short . Unlike some of these things that you write, I don’t like to ramble on and make people scroll down page after page just to get the information . I’d rather keep these posts fairly short and readable – Hey these people are busy! If you don’t like it that that way, why you don’t take the time and write a post about how conditioning shampoos work . And while your at it , don’t accuse me of being sloppy with the truth when you’re so lazy yourself . You say ” conditioning shampoo ” like that’s one single thing . In reality people might want to know about conditioning shampoos , moisturizing shampoos , or even two-in-one- shampoos . So if you’re gonna open that can of worms you better be prepared to deal with the subject in detail ! Stop your bitching and go write some posts .
Signed right brain .

Right brains:
Hey , I keep forgetting to ask you, but do think we should hide our page counter ? I don’t know if it’s a good thing or not for people to see that we’ve only had a couple of 100 hits so far . Wouldn’t we want to think have people think that there are tens of thousands of people hanging on our every word ? What do you think ?

Left brain response :
Actually , I was thinking just the opposite . I think it would appeal to people to be in on the ground level of something this cool. Besides once we do get ten thousand readers asking questions every day we won’t be able to continue to send a personalized response to each and every person ( not unless we hire a few hundred more brains ! ) So , I think it’s kind of special that people are getting in on the ground level of this and I hope they appreciate the personalized one on one service that they have an opportunity to take advantage of right now . That’s the way I look at it.

Other brain responds :

OK , you have convinced me let’s leave it on for now .

Dear Right Brain,

Congratulations on passing the 1200 mark. If we don’t count the 200 sign-ons that are you, we might have actually passed 1000!! Great work.
