Beauty News Bits – New gadget zaps zits within 24 hours

Sick of putting creams and lotions on your face to get rid of your acne? Well, a couple of companies have created devices that claim to literally zap your zits away.

The first is called the Zeno Zit Zapper and we were first tipped off to it by the folks over at Blogrenee. The Zeno is a handheld electronic device that has been clinically proven to make pimples disappear more quickly. It actually received a nod from the United States Food and Drug Administration which means their research was good enough to convince Washington bureaucrats. For medical devices this isn’t exactly easy.

The way this gadget works is this. The Zeno is placed over the mild to moderate acne blemish. It delivers a controlled level of heat for 2.5 minutes to the skin which kills off subsurface acne-causing bacteria. The treatment is repeated 2 to 4 more times during the first 4 to 12 hours of a pimples appearance. According to at least one board certified dermatologist, this treatment is effective for 90% of people who use it.

Now, while this sounds like an interesting device, it also sounds like a bit of a hassle. Think about it like this. If you had 4 pimples you would have to spend as much as 40 minutes zapping your face with this thing. It just seems much easier to use an acne lotion. But if it really does clear up a pimple within 24 hours, it might just be worth putting it into your beauty arsenal. Color this half of the Beauty Brains skeptical but at least there is some evidence that it works. Only by trying it can you know for sure.
