Liudan Longingly Wonders:
Hi, I wanted to know if Frederic Fekkai hair products are really worth the hype. They sell very well at Sephora and many women now swear by their products. What makes them so special and is it worth the 20 bucks for a small 8 oz bottle? Thanks!

The Right Brains Gleefuly Replies:
Fekkai is amazingly over-priced. Our favorite example is his Overnight Hair Repair conditioner. The formula is a nice, but simple, mixture of silicones and it sells for almost $200 per bottle!

Cost of the ingredients in the formula: $2.00

How much Fekkai charges you: $ 190.oo

The smile on Frederic’s face on the way to the bank: Priceless.

The Beauty Brains’ Bottom Line:
Fekkai consistently over charges for his products. We understand that for many women, expensive beauty care products can be status symbols and that’s fine. But from a formula standpoint, there is nothing special about these Fekkai products. They will not work $180 better than your average Paul Mitchel or Tresemme product. So if you’re on a budget and don’t need the personal gratification of spending as much money on your hair care products as Jennifer Aniston, we urge you to stay away from the Fekkai products and find something that works just as well for MUCH less money.

I pity those poor poor women who buy into Fekkai’s hype, congratulations, money well-spent. :D

[...] probably see upgraded products. (As you know if you read our previous posts, the Beauty Brains are not big fans of Fekkai formulas.) But then again, hardcore fans will probably complain that P&G has made the brand too [...]

This person is right on! I decided to try Fekkai’s Glossing Cream and Overnight Hair Repair (when it priced less than $200, but was still ridiculously high.) Neither product is SO great that I would purchase it again.
I am so glad I came across this review that states the TRUTH. In my opinion, eople who buy these pruducts are either too gullible or are interested in the status symbol of using them.
