Beauty News Bits – A cure for sun damage?

Let’s face it, there have been times when you’ve gone out in the sun and forgot to put on the all-important sunscreen. Or maybe you just missed a spot and you’ve got your very own, temporary red tattoo. Well, you may soon be able to do something about it. According to AGI Dermatics, they have produced a lotion called Dimericine that is supposed to repair the sun-damaged skin.

Dimercine is an enzyme based cream that speeds up the skin’s natural DNA repairing process. You put the cream on when you get home or the next morning after being exposed to the sun. This is supposed to significantly reduce your chances of getting skin cancer but it won’t completely protect you. The experts at the company say you still need SPF lotions and it won’t protect against wrinkles or lessen the redness and pain.

So it looks like this stuff will be pretty cool, but it’s not a cure for sun exposure. Too bad. But anything that helps to stop skin cancer is definitely a bright idea.
