Is Mineral Oil A Good Conditioner?

Another Fast Blast From The Beauty Brains

Jazz Wants To Know:
I’ve been applying mineral oil to my wet hair after cleansing. My hair feels smoother and softer. But, is the mineral oil doing any good at all?

The Right Brain Replies:
Mineral can be a good leave in conditioner for some hair types. (It doesn’t work very well from rinse out products, though, because it’s not substantive to hair.) The danger is that it will weigh your hair down because it doesn’t absorb very well. But if you tried it and it works for you, it’s probably fine.

I personally feel that if Mineral oil is SO toxic and bad and dangerous, FDA would’ve ban it, just like mercury and hydroquinone. But no, its still widely used. I’m acne prone and mineral oil doesn’t not cause any problems for me, so long I don’t use it at night. Mineral oil in day creams and sunblocks are fine for me
