Lea Longs To Learn:
I just wanted to know your thoughts on Neutrogena Triple Moisture deep recovery hair mask, I’ve heard it’s great and I’ve reads lots of good reviews on it. How does this hair mask work and exactly what does it to to hair?

The Right Brain Tries To Teach:
Neutrogena’s Triple Moisture contains some of the most effective conditioning agents available. Let’s take a look at the types on conditioners they use:

Traditional carbon-based conditioners:
Behentrimonium Chloride

High Molecular Weight Silicones:
Dimethicone

Low Molecular Weight Silcones and other Silicone Derivatives:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Trimethylsilyamodimethicone

Other Primary Conditioners:
Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Behentrimonium Methosulfate

What do all these three syllable names mean? They’re ingredients that work by coating the hair shaft, smoothing the cuticles to reduce damage. Now, that doesn’t mean it’s the best conditioner for all hair types, but it should be good for treating hair that is heavily damaged. Our biggest concern with this formula is that it could weigh hair down, but that depends on the type of hair you have and the condition it’s in.

The Brains’ Bottom Line:
Neutrogena’s Triple Moisture conditioner could well be worth a try if you have damaged hair. Even if you don’t like it, you can always just shampoo it out.
