No, you need to use something stronger like trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or Phenol for a tattoo... I advise against doing Phenol peels at home because you NEED ANESTHESIA .... and TCA peels are painful but you can maybe get away without the anesthesia as long as its not on the face.

[...] Today found this great post, here is a quick excerpt : tattoo-you.jpg Dermatologists have had some success in removing tattoos with chemical peels but we haven’t seen people have much luck with home made treatments. You might fade your ink but you might also burn your skin. … Read the rest of this great post Here [...]

I wonder how Amy's treatment has worked out? I think I would resort to laser removal.

I have tried the TCA peel, all it does is burn your skin, though it did fade my tat slightly. Glycolic acid also fades it slightly when applied as a peel but also burns and leaves a small sore for a while. You must realize how deep these acids have to go to reach the ink in your tat, naturally it can be painfull. I am currently trying the method of tattooing the glycolic into the tattoo, we'll see how it works and if it leaves a scar soon.
