Your article incorrectly states that Richard Newton is the creator of Vow Fragrance. It is actually Alix Miral.
I bought Vow 2007 for my wedding in October of 2007. It is a beautiful and very unique fragrance. I wear it now and again for special occasions and it reminds me of my special day.

I chuckled when I saw this post. I give the Vow fragrance creators credit for cashing in on the fact that anything geared to brides is generally a good rainmaker. As much as the Wedding-Industrial Complex bewilders me, I'm all for anyone making a buck!

I think this would be cooler if you told them for ex. your favorite flowers and general theme of the wedding and then they'd create an exclusive fragrance for you to match the wedding. If your wedding party was going to be dressed in a tea rose color and the church decorated with lillies, they'd make a tea rose and lilly fragrance.

But if it is one fragrance for everyone for a year, then it is pretty lame, I have to agree.

MG,
Thanks for being a regular reader - without people like you this blog wouldn't be possible. While the Left Brain and I may argue from time to time we do agree on one thing: we're here to educate our readers on cosmetic science.

Most of the time we focus on answering your questions on how products work and debunking myths behind all the advertsing BS. But occasionally we'll write a light hearted post about an old cosmetic ad or a cool new product that we find. Today's post is just that.

I think the idea of using Internet technology to create a personalized fragrance experience is a clever use of computer science. Is it marketing hype? Absolutely! But that's different than the kind of marketing hype that lies to you about how a product will work on your hair and skin. We would NEVER support that kind of misleading advertising.

So I'm really sorry if I dissappointed you or any of our other readers but keep reading and hopefully you'll like most of what the Left Brain and I have to say.

Oh, and by the way, I sold the free stuff they gave me on Ebay and used the money to buy Christmas presents! :)
