The Beauty Brains often get questions about our personal preferences for cosmetic products. The Left Brain and I have talked about how to answer these questions and we’ve decided not to endorse any products based on our personal use. Sure we have things we like, but we prefer to limit our comments to a technical assessment of the formulas. This ensures unbiased opinions and is also the best way to help our community understand what the ingredients are and how they work.

Still, we are frequently asked to give our opinions on the touchy-feely side of products. So, we’ve recruited a new Beauty Brain to help us answer questions about how products look and feel and how well they apply. Please join us in welcoming Sarah Bellum, our new sensory specialist, to The Beauty Brains. Sarah is not a cosmetic chemist like the Left and Right Brains. She’s a trained evaluator of hair and skin care products with a background in Marketing and Sensory Science.

Sarah will post product reviews while the Left and Right Brains continue to focus on educating about cosmetic science. If you have a product you’d like her to evaluate, please contact Sarah in care of the Beauty Brains, at thebeautybrains (at) gmail.com. Look for Sarah’s first review coming soon!
