Media Meets Science – Guess who gets distorted

It’s a little outside the normal realm of the Beauty Brains but this science article published over at Popsci.com provides a great look at some recent studies and how the reality compares to the hype. Big surprise, the media generally exaggerates the results from scientific studies.

Of particular interest to this Left Beauty Brain is the article about Sun Exposure. The hype headline implies that sun exposure can actually help prevent cancer. But the reality is sunburn is the number one cause of skin cancer, so you’ll certainly want to avoid one.

Other things that were interesting were findings about Chocolate (mmmm, Godiva,) Coffee, Housework, Pizza and even the Pub.

Take a look. It’s enlightening.
