Cathy`s question: My face is really gross at the moment. My cheeks are flaming with weird red blotchy bumps that I can`t seem to get rid of! It’s not acne! I`ve been using Guinot anti-redness treatment but it doesn`t seem like its working these bumps are really worrying me. Also I have some small faint delicate multi-wrinkles up there are there any wrinkle cream suitable for 16 years old? I don`t want to be 60 and none of the wrinkle creams would work on me cause when I was little I was so accustomed to heavy creams.
The Left Brain Replies:
Cathy, I don’t know what’s causing your blotchy skin bumps, but it sounds like you should see a dermatologist. As far as wrinkles are concerned, I wouldn’t be too worried at your age. Wrinkles occur as we age because of a breakdown of collagen and elastin, two of the key building blocks of skin. Using a moistuirizing wrinkle cream with petrolatum or mineral oil on skin at age 16 doesn’t have any effect on wrinkles that you’ll get at age 60. And your skin doesn’t “get used” to creams and lotions – skin biology doesn’t work that way.
But, here’s something that does matter: sun exposure! UV radiation damages skin and eventually leads to wrinkles. A sunscreen reflects or absorbs that dangerous radiation and protects the underlying skin structures. Since that kind of damage is cumulative (meaning it builds up over time) sun protection is helpful even during your teen years. So you should consider using a facial moisturizer with sunscreen if you’re concerned about wrinkles. You can find tons of sunscreens to choose from at Dermatolgistrx.com
The Beauty Brains Bottom Line:
Tenns, don’t waste your money on wrinkle creams but it wouldn’t hurt to start using sunscreen. That’s the best antiaging skin care treatment, especially if you live in a climate where you get a lot of sun exposure.

Hi,
I started developing pretty bad facial wrinkles after I crossed 35. I was pretty upset about it as I really didn’t whink my skin would start degrading in my 30s. I tried altering my diet, took a lot of dark coloured vegetables such as beetroot and tomatoes as these were supposed to be good for wrinkles and also drank plenty of water. It didn’t really work though and my Doctor had even suggested that I go for a Debrassion treatment to fade out my wrinkles. I then recently read an article by a lady who claimed that she got rid of her wrinkles using a particular anti-wrinkle product. I tried it and it worked really well. Within 4 weeks my wrinkles had faded out and were barely visible. Really good stuff. You can read more about the lady’s article at the link below.
