Janet has hair issues: My hair is 90% grey. I want silver like Paula Deen`s. My hairdresser used violet mixed with lightest blonde. Result light blonde. I hate it. What can I use to get it silver? The Left Brain replies:
The bad news is there`s really no such thing as a silver-colored hair dye. So, sadly, Garnier can’t just add more “silveryness” to your hair.
The good news is there are products that help make silver hair look better. Typically, these products contain violet dye because the violet cancels out any yellow color that your hair might have which makes it look more silvery. Adding blonde dye doesn’t make any sense.
While I’m skeptical, here’s a website that claims to know how to dye your hair silver. If you give this a try let me know how it turns out. I say, proceed with caution or you’ll end up with purple hair!

I wrote in several months ago about gray hair and since then I’ve tried alot of different products to get and try to keep a silver colored hair. I’ve did try the website you’ve refered to and tried the silver hair dye.To me that was a waste of time and money, first you can’t have any conditioner on your hair or the product will just slip off. Second try the dye had to stay on a long time to even almost get a silver color and with the first shampoo it was gone but left behind a violet cast to my hair. Out of all the products I’ve tried to keep the yellow or brassiness out of my hair and to get a silver color, the best product I’ve found was Artec White Violet Shampoo and Conditioner. You can only get it from beauty supply places and on the web, just google the name and you’ll find alot of sites that carry it. I think it works the best. Just remember to carefully time the amount of time the shampoo is on your hair. Good luck!!
Go to a salon that uses Redken color, they’ve got a whole “Titanium” line in both permanent and demi-permanent. The colors are very silver and actually when used right very cool!
