Yes Sarina you are right. Chimps form sentences in sign language. But they don't make father and mother statements to other species like we do. Communication alone doesn't answer this question. I have worked with Dolphins, which makes me make the statements that I have so far.
Cheers.

How do you know we are the only species with intelligent language? Just because you don't understand lets say dolphins doesn't mean they don't converse and plan for the future. Studies have shown a dolphin who was assaulted by other marine animals was able to communicate this to others of his own kind and later attacked it with the assistance of others. Clearly this shows some form of advanced communication

I really don't understand the issue but I'm probably not the only one. Using human terms to describe animals is no more ludicrous than setting humans apart from nature. Consciousness is an illusion created by our brains.

No, Christine is not my favorite movie. I'm more partial to "What The Bleep Do We Know"

So your telling me your favorite movie is Christine? Anyway, you missed the point. Parent is also anthropomorphizing and just because it is a trait still doesn't make it correct. Of course, it is distinctly human as we are the only species capable of a truly intelligent language.

We anthropomorphize all the time. It's a distinctly human trait. Not only do we refer to animals using human terms but we do the same with cars. I don't really see much problem in it.
