Sarah Bellum Sez:
According to one of my fave sites, Cosmeticsdesign.com, there`s a new term that describes men who are outside of the traditional brackets when it comes to using personal care products.
Ubersexual man refers to men who are more complex, more thoughtful, more culinary and better groomed than the macho man, but more traditionally masculine than the metrosexual. An Ubersexual man is likely to use anti-wrinkle creams, bronzing products and toning gels along with his shaving foam, hair gel, and deodorant.
The article suggests that stars like David Beckham and Brad Pitt are making it more socially acceptable for men to embrace a more feminine lifestyle. I`m not exactly sure what that means, because I don`t consider either of those gentlemen to be very feminine!
But this much is true – I am seeing more and more beauty products marketed toward men. What do you think, Beauty Brainiacs? Do you have any Ubersexuals in your life? Are you buying cosmetics for your man? Does he buy them for himself? Or is this just another piece of hype to help the cosmetic industry sell more products?

Yes, my BF is bordering on this ‘ubersexual’ guy…thats fine by me. I’m a big believer in be who you are and if he wants to indulge in the newest moisturizer or care about what hair product he uses then good for him. Hes actually more fun and understanding to my latest mu obsession. The part that kills me is the label itself. They get ubersexual??? Please. When its a woman, they call it High Maintenance.
If he’s ubersexed, then so am I
Some interesting reading you have it there…

That’s pretty funny, I don’t think I know many of those (well, maybe one or two). I usually shop for our house so my husband just uses whatever I buy for him (which is usually the generic store brand), maybe I should start buying him fancy toners and stuff. Nope, I think I’ll keep my hairy non-metro-non-uber-anything guy as is.
Ha! Soon we will have to start ranking men like we do DEFCONs…
