Surprise, surprise, another celebrity is coming out with a line of beauty care products. This time it’s UK supermodel Kate Moss. She had such great success with her Rimmel makeup and her skincare line that she’s now going to do hair care.

What’s most amusing about this article is that there is “concern from some consumers who are questioning Moss’s hair care expertise…”

Do people really buy celebrity-endorsed products because they think celebrities know anything haircare or skincare? Celebrities pay stylists and makeup artists to look good. And we’ve already seen what celebrities can look like without makeup. Celebrities also pay cosmetic scientists like the Beauty Brains to come up with the formulas. They don’t actually create them.

Unless Kate Moss has some secret cosmetic chemistry background, she certainly can’t be considered a hair care product expert (or a skin care or makeup expert either). And while everyone’s favorite pirate says she’s real smart that doesn’t mean you should make your product purchasing decisions based on it.
