well, I like *those* mites, of course...they're kinda friendly looking. It's just the thought of 181 other different types of their friends and relations (in sufficient quantities) that makes me a little nervous. I like the fact that we have a lot of symbiotic relationships going on between our bodies and other organisms, in general. I'm just seriously wimpy when I think about it !

I think it is the skin cancer one too. Seems affluence wouldn't have an effect on whether or not people are out in the sun without sunscreen. I would think people with more money would be better educated and more capable financially of affording all the skin care products they need, including sunscreen. I know the muscle cream one is true, as it recently happened...and I think a person could become addicted to tanning. Let's say I fall into the "have to have my sun fix" category myself. Sun exposure could cause a release of endorphins, at least for some people, therefore causing a desire for more and more. I think I could be guilty of this...I feel GOOD mentally and physically when I get sun every day. I sure love summer more than winter.
As for the mites....this one was a toss up for me and the skin cancer one. I know we carry mites...more than 90% of mammals carry demodectic mites in their hair follicles ( this includes humans) but as for that many species...I am a bit skeptical.
I can't wait to read the true answer.
I love this site by the way!
