Michelle wonders…I drink spring water ONLY on a daily basis, around 2-4 bottles a day, and i heard that by drinking too much spring water, it might cause kidney stone because they contain minerals?? is that true? or would drinking too much spring water have any other negative effects on your body??

The Left Beauty Brains watery reply…The main problem with drinking that much spring water is that it will cost you awatery skin lot of money.  It also creates a large amount of plastic waste so it is not a very environmentally conscious thing to do.  You are much better off drinking tap water. The sad truth is many bottled water companies actually just take city tap water run it through a simple filter and call spring water. You probably aren’t even drinking actual spring water. In fact, your probably not even getting more minerals than anyone else.

Based on the quantities you’re drinking and the fact that it’s probably just tap water, you really have no health concerns.  Incidentally, it sounds like you are drinking the right amount.  According to the scientists at the Mayo Clinic women should drink 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of water a day.  But don’t think that it’s going to improve your skin.  We busted that myth a few months ago.

And if you want to see more about bottled water bogus watch this video by Penn & Teller.
