I must admit that I find Listerine and Vicks as unusual treatments for bail fungus. I tried tea tree oil and vinegar out of curiosity, but it didn't really work (at least for me). I only got rid of that disgusting fungus with ZeroFungus. Trust me, the name says it all!

Jill said it first and I'll second it. My aunt told me that she "repaired" a fingernail was completely removed after she applied boric acid. I tried it with a toenail that had the fungus a least a decade and had started to lift off the nailbed. Many months later the nail is growing in very nicely and I couldn't be happier. My routine is to apply a light dusting of the boric acid to my toenails after taking a shower.

Just for the record I tried the vapor rub, herbal foot soaks, peroxide, bleach, essential oils and vinegar all of which didn't work for me.

If you're afraid of the systemic effects from lamisil, a doctor can prescribe a tincture that you paint on, around, and under the tips of your nails. It's not an approved treatment, but my doc said it was worth a try, and that's what I used on my toenails. Another off label treatment I've used ever since then is to use a nail brush with some nizoral (antifungal, antidandruff) shampoo to scrub the nails. I don't know if any of these topicals truly worked or not because I have no placebo control, but my toenails are pretty free of fungus and I never took an oral medicine for it.

I learned that nail fungus is an internal problem. Candida will overdose on oxygen. This site has the pictures to prove it.
