Gray-dar Gadget Reveals True Hair Color
Hey Braniacs, Sarah Bellum here with another intriguing product review.
Did you see the Left Brain’s post about Five Beauty Gadgets That Really Work? Well, here’s another type of beauty gadget that lets you see when a product is working on someone ELSE. It’s called Gray-dar and it’s a computerized gizmo that reveals a person’s true hair color.
Revolutionary device reveals real hair color
Gray-dar is the creation of writer/graphic artist/ visionary/inventor Scott Duran. Scott’s device is a helmet equipped with special goggles that that screen out wavelengths of light given off by artificial dyes. When you look through the goggles you can see the guy’s true hair color.
How does Gray-dar work
Okay, it doesn’t really work. This is a gag device that I saw on inventorspot.com and just couldn’t resist freaking you guys out. If you want a laugh, you can read Scott’s imaginative and entertaining description of Gray-dar. Inventorspot.com is always an interesting read for me and the other Beauty Brains.
Show your true colors
You have to admit it’s an intriguing idea. It makes me wonder: if such a device really did exist, would you use it? Who would you use it on? A potential date? Some guy at work or at school? A female friend? Would you not care at all? Or, would you be worried that someone would be using Gray-dar on you? (If you’re really that worried about being caught with a bad dye job you can get rid of the evidence with Color Oops Extra Strength Hair Color Remover.) Or maybe Scott should invent a Gray-dar jammer!

Jessica Says:
Does this colour-removal stuff really work? Does it bring back your real colour for real?
I sent the following email to beautybrains a few weeks ago but never got a response, so this post is actually a blessing:
Finding this blog has been a dream come true! I’ve been following the tips
in the hair blogs and have had amazing results in the last 5 days! A
complete turnaround! (I switched from washing and drying every day, to
conditioning, washing the roots only, conditioning, leave-in conditioning,
wide tooth comb only, oiling the tips and mostly airdrying and it’s gone
from night to day!)
I’ve got medium thickness mid-back length straight hair now but had
butt-long, beautiful, shiny, slightly wavy, thick bright blonde hair for the
first 15 years of my life. I’m 22 years old and have been colouring my hair
for 7 years now (every colour in the rainbow for a while, now just a blonde
dye job - no harsh bleaching for a few years now). I’m well aware that it’s
the worst thing I can do to my hair, and have always wanted to stop, but my
natural colour is a dirty blonde now that I don’t much like (although I
haven’t seen a fair sized chunk of it in a long time). I have two
questions:
1. What is the best way to “un-dye” my hair? Aside from growing it out
which is gigantically unattractive for months or even years..
2. What can I do to slightly change the colour of my hair that won’t do any
further damage? I’m not hot on the idea of darker hair, and prefer a nice
blonde.
Also, in the past when I’ve tried to go months without dying, I’d always
felt that my hair felt thinner, less lively, and generally dull until I
caved and dyed it again. Was it just me, or is there some explanation for
this?
I hope to hear back soon.
Keep dishing out the good news!
Now, if someone could answer my second question..
Dear Jessica... Says:
Did you even read about this article? It’s a JOKE!
And NO no haircolor remover will ever reveal your true color, it will strip your hair down leaving it dry like straw, and ready to be colored again.
Good luck.

I was talking about the ‘colour oops’. I read some reviews on it yesterday, and apparently it worked for 98% of the people who reviewed it.
Dear Jessica... Says:
Hi, I figured as much. Unfortunately again it will not reveal your true hair color. If you read about this Loreal product further, it’s a form of bleach and you should not get it close to your roots. It will literally strip off all color or lighten color that is too dark. However if you leave it on too long it can turn your hair orange and roots bright blonde if you’re not careful.
Again, Colour Oops will remove old hair color but not reveal your true color.
Be very careful when using it.
good luck.
