Being one of the Beauty Brains is never boring.
Yesterday we received a flood of questions from what appears to be a group of school children. We’re assuming some science teacher must have directed them to our site as part of a class project. (If the teacher reads this, please let us know who you are and where your school is so we can give you credit.)
It was a lot of fun to see what beauty science questions the kids came up with, so we thought we’d share the list with our community. So, today’s post is an unedited list of the kid’s questions. Tomorrow we’ll try to answer a few of our favorites. Thanks to EVERYONE who sent in a question, we’re really proud of you for wanting to learn more about the products you use on your hair and skin every day. I tend to have watery eyes, so I use waterproof mascara. My question to you is what is a good way to get waterproof mascara off of my eyes without having to scrape the residue off that gets under my eyes?

Well duh, it’s chloro.
If some of these kids are old enough to wear mascara, they are old enough to use proper grammar and spelling, or at least know how to use spell check. As a teacher, it scares me a little.
I’d like to commend the teacher! Getting kids to ask questions at a site run by personal care professionals instead of scaremongers is great. The teacher is teaching kids to ask questions and hopefully to learn how to interpret the answers. If I read one more false “parabens cause breast cancer,” claim I think I am going to scream. Look for answers backed by facts, not just answers.
