After years of being my own guinea pig trying out heaps of products that were synthetic, I have never been fortunate to find a pharmaceutical product that has helped my acne. Whether prescribed or just off a drug stores shelf there would always be some bad side effect causing excessive dryness, itching, oiliness, dry patches, oily patches, burning, flaking, tightness, redness, tenderness, etc. I really could go on forever. Sometimes several of these side effects combined!

I have been completely put off by anything synthetic and man made.

I'm 25 now and have not only switched from chemical products to natural ones, but I've also changed my lifestyle. I try to live a more simple lifestyle. One that's full of whole foods, lots of exercise, holistic medical remedies, meditation, etc.
I love learning the ways that the ancients used to live.

Look at it this way, there have been people living long before The Beauty Brains, and to go a little further, longer than The Beauty Brains great, great, great, great, great grandfather. I trust a natural medicine over any 100 year old 'proven' synthetic medicine developed by chemists and then tested on some poor lab rat.

Holistic is definitely the way to go!!!

Neem oil is natural so why the worries. If there are precausions to using the stuff then just do your research, find out how to avoid it's potential toxicity. Yeah and it smells kinda funky, but suck it up, you can't have everything you silly people.

Peace and love to you.

Who cares if the stuff is "clinically proven" do clear up skin? The truth of the matter is the stuff is safe to use and has been used for many different skin disorders for centuries so why not try it on your face? It can't hurt and if it's not for you you'll know and move on. Emu oil isn't scientifically proven but does work. I'm not going to live my life based on a scientist.

@Varuna - Science is more than just observations. It is controlled observations. The problem with non-scientific documentation is that it is not repeatable and there is no way to determine whether it is wrong or not. If someone mistakenly believes neem oil cured their acne (when it didn't) and writes it down, that doesn't mean what they've written is true. You need controlled, scientific experiments that can be repeated if you want to figure out what is "true".
