First of all i want to say that I am sorry that animal rights groups very often use facts without checking them. Or even lie. This is really stupid since it makes us look like people that does not live in the real world.

It's only okey to hurt another living being with feelings (like mammals that we know have feelings) in self defense.
In my opinion research that tries to cure illness is a sort of self defense. That's what makes it okey to use animaltests to cure things like cancer. However cosmetics are not essential it's luxury.

I think you ask the question in an other way then I would have done. The question should not be can we replace animal testing it should be do we really need to develope anymore ingredients before we have new test methods.
Or think about this what would happen if all the big companies that do a lot of research would take all there research resources and spend it on developing new tests. Maybe it would be a good idea to do it for a year or a month every year. Imagine all the good-will.

I do think we have experimented alot in the past because of that resech there is no need to do more. I think the nice thing to do is to use does already tested ingredients.

ps. humans are mammals with feelings to and even though some are self destructive it's not okej to hurt them. In other words to pay poor people and do the testing on them would be very unethical.

I hope you don't mind my poor English. It's not my native language.

I'd just say that cosmetics are a useless comodity and are not worth testing on animals. Wanting to look prettier is not a justifiable reason to test chemicals on animals. If cosmetics just stop being used every women/ man will look less stunning and it will be ok for everyone since men / women are going to be faced with the same choice as before. People have washed floors with vinegar or lemon for generations on end and they managed to have large healthy families. I don't know about the argument of medicine to be honest but as a science student i think that tissue cultures are looking like a very good alternative but cultures are specific and cannot offer a more holistic view of the body. Still we can never be sure that a thing that is safe in a rat will be safe for a human since we are both two different organisms. Still the medicine thing is a bit of a question mark in my mind :/

its horrible that animals are being tested on and the fact that alternatives are hard to discover but other things need to be dealt with safely too.

when reading alot of these articles and comments, im starting to wonder what happens to the surviving tested animals. are testers using the animals that survived for other cosmetics that is next in line to be tested? if not, what happens to the survivers then?

are the testers making sure to dispose of the dead animals in a safe way,
or are they just dumped in the nearest landfill?

animal testing is the main concern, though i don't see or hear of anyone considering any precautions being taken to prevent further possible harm of animals, and also, the enviornment.

Why do companies have to test on animals? Animals are living beings and feel pain just like humans do. The real testing should be done on humans, companies and researchers need to leave animals alone.
