I googled “filed nails smell like cat pee” BECAUSE MINE DO TOO!!!!
HELP! I was thinking it had to be some type of chemical imbalance in my body or something that caused it!

I have experinced the same thing. Today I decided to try to find out why. This is the closest I have come to even finding the same question. I have no idea why this happens. I’m glad I’m not alone. It’s so weird!

My friend and I have noticed the same thing. The nails smell like ammonia when you file them- but ONLY when you file them. I think it must happen to everyone… right? Or maybe we’re just odd ones.

All my nails smell like ammonia when filed, and have for years. Tonight is the first time I’ve tried to find out why. I never think of it when I go to the doctor. No luck so far with the internet for info, but I’m glad I’m not the only one!
