I’ll pick Door #2, Monty. I don’t know too many women who’d retain a lot of intellectual acumen after looking at Jamie Bamber or Brad Pitt.

I’d like to see a test like this done that shows everyone various pictures of women and men. They never seem to do that, and I think the comparison might be interesting.

Yeah, it’s definitely a psychological effect. According to the article it is just as you say. People naturally think that blondes are dumb (as society reinforces) and they hypothesize that people taking tests only manage to live up to the competition. Other hair colors tested did not showing a dumbing effect.

That is a fabulously interesting question as to what hair color would make people become smarter. hmmm.

Overall, the study is a bit sketchy if you ask me. But I’ve never put much faith in the things that people in the field of psychology “learn”. It is not a hard science like physics or chemistry. Everything is so dependent on the people being tested that I’m skeptical of their conclusions.

This is really hard to belive!!! It must be a psychological effect. We’ve been conditioned to think that blondes are dumb so we react to that. I can’t see that there is any direct physical reason for this anamoly. Is there a particular hair color for a person, so when we see a picture of a person with that hair color we become smarter?
