Curious about the Pink Patch? Read more here but BEWARE!

Shelley is shocked: Wow! I was on Facebook today and saw an advertisement for this amazing little patch that’s supposed to make you lose weight and prevent ovarian cancer all at once! I found these claims dubious at best, but it would be great if you all could work your magic and let me know if there’s even a sliver of truth to them. I found it interesting that they would advertise on a site where lots of impressionable high school and college age girls with body image issues are likely to be active.

The Left Brain is perturbed about Pink Patch:pink patch
Frankly, Shelley, I think Pink Patch is trying to exploit young women based on their self image and I find that appalling. Given their dubious claims about weight loss, mood elevation, and breast/ovarian cancer prevention, it’s surprising the FDA hasn’t shut them down already.

Active ingredients used in the Pink Patch

The Pink Patch website list several key active ingredients. Including 5-HTP, Fucus Versiculosus (a type of seaweed), yerba mate, and lecithin.

Claims from the Pink Patch website

  • A natural mood enhancer and also helps curb your appetite.
  • A natural mood enhancer and also helps curb your appetite.
  • It reduces excess weight, increases your metabolism and energy - so you can forget about those pesky five pounds!
  • Aids your body’s breakdown of fats and cholesterol, it helps distribute body weight — no more disproportion!
  • It boosts your immune system, is good for your heart, and lowers your cholesterol. All of these benefits dramatically increase your body’s ability to loose excess weight.
  • According to the United States National Institute of Health, Fucus Vesiculosus can lower the risk of breast and ovarian cancers and cholesterol. For example, women in Japan are 30% less likely to develop breast and ovarian cancer than women in North America - due to the amount of seaweed, including Fucus Vesiculosus, consumed in their diet.

The Truth about The Pink Patch

The Pink Patch’s approach is to pick and choose bits of information about various ingredients and slap them together to entice young girls into trying their product. 5-HTP for example, has been studied clinically and does have some evidence it can help with mood elevation. But studies showing a link to weight loss are mixed. And The Pink Patch conveniently fails to mention side effects, like nausea. But perhaps most importantly, all the studies cited in the literature were based on relatively high dosages (100 to 300 mg per day). The Pink Patch gives no information on the dosage of their ingredients so it’s impossible to tell if they are using very low and ineffective levels, or very high and potentially dangerous levels. For more information read this review of 5-HTP from Vanderbilt University.

Similarly, The Pink Patch exaggerates claims related to Fucus Vesiculosus and weight loss. To claim that the use of their patch containing this sea weed derivative can have the same effect as a long term diet rich in this material without the research to back it up, is unfounded and misleading. But don’t take our word for it, the US Federal Trade commission filed suit against similar weight loss patches that make claims based on sea kelp. I urge you to read the FTC report on weight loss patches.

The Beauty Brains bottom line

As usual, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Without specific, long term clinical studies showing that this patch is effective, I have absolutely no faith in any of the claims made by this product and would strongly urge anyone to reject it. Please pass the word to anyone considering using this product. This probably won’t work.

Have you tried The Pink Patch or any other crazy weight loss schemes? Don’t be embarrassed - share what’s worked (or not worked) for you so the rest of the Beauty Brains community can learn.

Resveratrol can help you to lead a long and healthy life so says Dr. Oz.

Resveratrol Supplements can help you control your weight naturally
by increasing energy, reducing cravings, and limiting your appetite.
According to Wikipedia, Consumer Lab, an independent dietary
supplement and over the counter products evaluation organization,
published a report on 13 November 2007 on the popular resveratrol
supplements. The organization reported that there exists a wide range
in quality, dose, and price among the 13 resveratrol products
evaluated. The actual amount of resveratrol contained in the
different brands range from 2.2mg for Revatrol, which claimed to have
400mg of “Red Wine Grape Complex”, to 500mg for Biotivia.com Transmax,
which is consistent with the amount claimed on the product’s label.
Prices per 100mg of resveratrol ranged from less than $.30 for
products made by Biotivia.com, jarrow, and country life, to a high of
$45.27 for the Revatrol brand. None of the products tested were found
to have significant levels of heavy metals or other contaminants.

  2. Meresankh Says:

Perhaps the nausea is part of how this patch controls your appetite. I mean, if you feel sick, you don’t want to eat, right?

And yes, Japanese women eat a lot of seaweed, but they also have a lot of other very healthful things in their diet, too, like lots of veggies and big, oily fish. A little seaweed extract isn’t going to have the same effect as eating seaweed every day over the course of a lifetime.

It sounds like a sham to me. I think the Brains are right. But, boy, the company sure makes it sound very tempting to use this patch, and I’m not an impressionable young high school or college girl either.

  3. Rose Says:

There is no such thing as a miracle cure. Just another sham.

  4. Candice Says:

Even if the ingredients were proven to be effective (i.e. certain evidence that 5-HTP improves mood)… there’s no reason to expect sticking them next to your skin is going to be useful.

  5. trubey Says:

I love it when you answer questions like this. Is there a website similar to yours which looks at dubious claims for dubious health products?

  6. Diane Says:

I have to say I’m not too impressed with the article you linked to on 5-HTP. You say it’s “from Vanderbilt University” but it reads like someone’s term paper and it’s full of typos and inaccuracies. For instance, it refers to 5-HTP as an herb, when actually it is an amino acid. The article has a woman’s name at the top, presumably the author, but doesn’t list any credentials for her. I guess it’s a good reminder for us to not only be skeptical of beauty product claims but also to be aware of our sources when reading things on the internet! Which is not to say I don’t appreciate this site - please keep up your efforts in helping people separate fact from fiction!

  10. Sara Says:

Hi i have just signed up for the free 6 day trial on this pink patch. i will let you know how i get on. today 18th march i weigh 11stone, i will let you know what i way in 6 days time.

  11. Maha Says:

i’ve got a sample, see how it goes!!!

  12. Tina Says:

I also signed up for the pink patch 6 day trial, thinking £6 P&P is OK to try it.
Disgusted when I received the patches today that in the small print delivered with the trial they say:

“by ordering the trial package of the pink patches you will automatically receive a new 30 day supply 14 days after your trial supply has been shipped and £35.95 + p&p will be billed to your credit card.”

So before I’ve even tried the patches this has made me think they are a rip-off. There is a number to ring or email address if you don’t want to get them. I know what I will be doing first thing tomorrow.

  13. Sara Says:

Wow! Glad to see i aint the only one.
Today is 2nd day of the patch trial and i must say my cravings are still there but not as much. Lets be honest girls nothing is ever going to stop me craving chocolate!!!!

  14. thebeautybrains Says:

    Well, keep us posted.

  15. Mary Says:

Theres a free trial of the pink patch. You pay 7.95 for shipping and handling..BUT there’s a problem. Once you order the free trial you are automatically a member and they will ship you the monthly supply, and charge almost $50 to your banking account. I didn’t know this, they didn’t make it clear on their website. I never received my free trial. I called and they reimbursted me, plus sent me the monthly supply for free.

  16. Heidi Says:

Hello! I just got my free trial yesterday. I weighed myself on Sunday last, so I will weigh again tomorrow morning and track my progress over the next 6 days. I will post to let you know if I am losing weight. Although, I can tell you all today that I have not felt hungry at all. I had to force myself to eat so my body didn’t freak out. I’m not nauseated, or feeling like my heart is going to leap out of my chest, so those are promising signs. I will post again next Weds with my 6 day results… If I don’t lose in these six days, I’m cancelling the auto-ship. If that doesn’t work, I will just cancel the card!
    Thanks!

  17. dumb women Says:

cant believe how stupid you women are, its just an appetite suppressor which means if you havent got the will power to stop eating rubbish food in the first place then the patch will have no effect. If you’ve got the willpower to stop eating rubbish food then you dont need the patch in the first place. if you want to lose weight, its simple…eat less+exercise more. if you cant be bothered…then no patch in the world is going to help you…then you can say hello to fat cellulite butt and hips and an early grave.

  18. 2 dumb women Says:

you’re a real biotch. maybe you should suppress your mouth(and key strokes)

  19. 2 dumb women Says:

p.s. i ordered my free trial and will let you gals know what happens

  20. Kat Says:

Just ordered my 6 days trial, so we’ll see. Just wanted to say that on the page where you put your details to get the free trial says clearly about the automatic shipment and charge - you girls should learn to always read Terms & Conditions - they are there for a reason. However I am sceptic and think that it could also just be that it may work as self suggestive remedy but even if it would - it’ll still make lots of us happy ;o) Good luck!

  21. Kat Says:

Oh and to “dumb women” guy - how sad are you browsing through women websites…. If I created a web with cream for “few more inches” I’m sure you’d be the first to sign up….
    Girl Power!

  22. lainey Says:

hi, I just want to say that I am one of those impressionable girls you are talking about, and I have just ordered the free sample of the pink patch. But I am now really worried as when I had pressed accept, it then tells me it is a subscription but you can cancel at anytime. The only problem is…when you go onto the website there is no tab or link leading to unsubscribe. Help, I don’t want to pay for it every month without choice.

  23. Fiona Says:

Lainey - think you just got to email or call them to unsubscribe, failing that contact your card issuer to remove the charge

I have also ordered a free trial of the pink patch and am half way through, really think it works for me not craved as much (apart from having a funny whiff every now and then which reminds me kind of like a marmite smell!) is it just me? although girlies it does state on their website that the patches should be used as part of a sensible eating plan and exercise…

  24. morgan Says:

I’ve been using the patch for four days- I’m not sure if it’s actually working or my brain just THINKS its going to work, either way I have been eating less. I’m going to let them send me another months supply and see what happens. Also- it does say that they will continue to bill you, you have to read the terms and conditions tab on the site.

  25. Steph Says:

Anybody have any luck with the pink patch. I am planning on ordering my sample tonite. I do already have a sensible diet just need that extra help since summer is quickly approaching!

  26. naomi Says:

I am a real woman with the same cravings as everyone else…BUT the only way to get the body you want is to EAT LESS AND MOVE MORE. Simple as that!

  27. maggie Says:

NOPE!!!! I used the trial and it’s more like I gain weight!!! Seriously, it doesn’t work, at least for me. It didn’t stop my craving, I think I ate more. My stomach fat has gotten bigger than before.

  28. Sara Says:

Finished my trial. my cravings was curbed but i still weigh the same so no it dont work for me either. on to the next product! any idears for me? and yes i do eat healthy and go to the gym 4 times a week too, so im not lazy “dumb women”.

  29. Heidi Says:

I tried it - same thing as Sara above… Didn’t make me lose weight - I actually gained 1 1/2 lbs… probably because it made me bloated! Anyhow - honestly people - this is a sham… Eat less, DRINK WATER and move and you will lose weight… Try Slimquick - it worked for my friend and its inexpensive. You can get at Target (or if you shop at Wal-Mart)… $20.00. Also, I found this information regarding retailers and their “FREE TRIAL RUNS” on products… Food for thought. Thx- heidi

The 7 Day Fat Burner Free Trial Scam & Why You Must Avoid It!
Many of the fat burners and weight loss products you find online offer a 5 or 7-day free trial to tempt you into trying the product. On the surface, this seems like a great deal. After all, you get to try the product free. At the same time, the retailer seems to be demonstrating confidence in the quality and effectiveness of his or her product.

That’s how it seems anyway. The reality is dramatically different…

In order to receive the “free trial” offered on the product Web site, you must pay a small shipping and handling fee — usually between 5-7 dollars (in my opinion, this hardly makes the free trial “free” — since the shipping costs would be negligible as would be the handling). Of course, you must pay this small fee via a credit card, and this is exactly what the retailer wants… your credit card information.

This article is also available in video format. Click here if you’d rather watch the video!

Because in most cases, you’ll be automatically added to a recurring billing program (a bottle will be sent to you each month and your card charged accordingly) immediately following the cessation of your free trial period.

Just for your information… you may see the recurring billing program also referred to as an “autoship program” and occasionally, a “membership program.”

    And here’s the kicker…

You do not have to indicate your satisfaction with the product, or provide the company permission to charge your credit card and send you more product, or anything. They will begin sending product and charging your card regardless of whether you want it or not.

In all cases I’ve investigated, the retailer has been forthright in revealing to the customer that they will be enrolled in such a program following the cessation of the free trial. However, some retailers are very deceptive in the way they do so — burying this information on a “terms and conditions” page hidden away in a dark corner of their web site, for instance.

Others sandwich this material into a ton of text between their sign up pitches — knowing very well that their audience is likely to scan this text and miss this information (online, people tend to scan pages rather than read every word). Still others bury it into a huge page of boring legalese that no one in their right mind would read.

In most cases, the “deck is stacked” in favor of the retailer, by making it very unlikely that the consumer will be able to cancel the autoship program in compliance with the terms of the agreement. For instance, here’s what one retailer says…

If after trying XXXXX, you decide you do not wish to receive the 30-day supply, simply contact us within 14 days of the day you placed your order. It is as easy as that.

How fast do you think the retailer is going to get that free trial out the door? I’m guessing not so fast at all. Factor in that delay, the shipping time, and the 7 day trial period and… BAM. The 14 days are up. Remember, that’s not 14 days from when you receive the order, that’s 14 days from when you place the order. Theoretically you could be added to an autoship program before you even try the product.

Sure, most retailers claim to be happy to assist customers with cancellation requests. Feedback on this site, however, suggests otherwise. Customer reps, if they can be accessed at all, are deceptive, rude, misleading and downright dishonest.

Good luck getting off that autoship program.

On top of this, some retailers refuse to offer refunds on any “autoship” products. Some offer a credit towards other products, and some don’t even bother with that.

The other thing to keep in mind is…

No matter how good any fat burner or weight loss product is, you’re unlikely to see any results within 5-7 days. But that doesn’t matter to the retailer, because by the time your free trial is over, you’ll be receiving the product on a monthly basis.

    Bottom line?

The vast majority of 5-7 free trials are completely bogus, and only work in favor of the retailer. If you are investigating any product offering such a trial, be sure to search carefully for the complete terms and conditions. Remember, if you agree to the terms and conditions — even without reading them, the retailer can add you to the autoship program without legal ramifications (but the retailer cannot refuse to remove you from the program however!).

I’d also recommend searching for product feedback on this site — as I’ve said, I’ve received hundreds of e-mails from folks who were unable to cancel their membership in one program or another, and needed to take drastic action.

Hydroxy Cut Hardcore is working great for me! I started after my dumb 7 day pink patch trial. I have already lost 2 pounds (all water I’m sure), but its doing its thing. I’m taking in conjunction with GNC’s Womens Ultra Mega Active pack, as it helps to enhance the Hydroxy Hardcore. However, you can’t drink caffeine due to the high levels in the pills - drink water, water water… Good luck!

i have been using my free sample of pink patch for a week and i can honestly say that it has really curbed my appetite,i start my day with a large bowl of porrige and don’t feel hungry until the evening then i only have a small meal of pasta and chiken,i no longer have sugar craving. the down side was that for a few days i had very bad nausea, stomach wind(burping)the runs and a bloated feeling, but that only lasted a few days and now i feel alot slimer and more positive about my body, although i only need to shed a few stubborn pounds, nothing drastic so it suits me.

ever heard of pyramid marketing? How it works..is kind of like horse racing tips…you get free inside information horse racing tips as a free trial, each person gets a different tip, most horses will lose and there will be some people who will have a continuous winning streak. thats what the pink patch is. Even with a placbeo you will have some morons saying the placebo works and they notice weight loss, they are the people who will buy more and more and are convinced the product works, but of course they are in a minority, but the business model only need a tiny percentage of those morons to buy. Thats how they make their money.

  37. TBTAM Says:

  38. Clare Says:

Ive been looking at the pinkpatch also. but recently I noticed Lipobind. Lucy Benjamin from Eastenders recomends it.They say:
LIPObind helps naturally reduce the amount of fat the body absorbs from food and can help reduce food cravings and suppress appetites.LIPObind™ binds fat as soon as it comes into contact with dietary fats in the stomach, creating a large fat-fibre complex. This fat-fibre complex with the undigested fat is prevented from being absorbed in the small intestine and is eliminated naturally through the stool.

Check it out. The only down side is the cost. You see you take 2/3 tablets after every meal and 60 tablets cost around £24.99!! Thats only about a weeks worth!!
    Anyone tried it?

    http://www.lipobind.com/

Which is why I was looking at the pink patch!

  39. J. Lincoln Says:

Say no to that lipobind stuff. Any sort of fat bind compound essentially makes the fat some out whenever you go to the bathroom. It consequently causes freak ‘accidents’. Yeah, somehow they forget to mention these things on their miraculous websites.

  40. Terri Says:

Hey - I tried the pink patch too - nada!

I am sticking with ephedra. It works and I love it.

I use the new pill from BeeLean Xtreme.
So far I have lost 22 pounds and I feel better than ever.

The new pills they have are safe and really cut me hunger but the coolest thing of all about it is that the inches
have just melted off of me.

I started it in Feb & no joke this stuff is the real deal.

    Ephedra Rules!!!

anyway my question was can you shower with it on?

  43. Gillian Says:

I’ve been using the pink patch for over a week now. Number one, I can’t keep the darn thing on. It always falls off, at least 12 hours in advance of the 24 hour mark. I haven’t lost any weight and as far as I’m concerned I’m more hungry than I was before. LOL. Oh well. It was worth a try. Everyone’s different right?

  45. GuineaPig Says:

    Hey yall.

I completely agree with what most of you say about the exaggerated claims, the trickery and elusive advertising language the pink patch uses. However, I’ve tried it and I think I have some relevant comments to add.

I don’t know if it really works or not, because I’ve only been using it consistently for 8 days. But everything they say it’s supposed to do seems to be right on. I find it difficult to eat as much as I used to - I have to really work at it.

I am normally a sugar addict - I’ve gone many a day eating just sugary breakfast cereals and ice cream. My sugar cravings are severely limited by wearing this patch - that’s one thing I can for sure attest to. I do still eat sweet things, I notice, but it’s nowhere NEAR as bad, and I’ve tried so hard in the past it almost became a psychological problem because I was beating myself up for my inability to stop eating that stuff. I used to eat an entire pint of ice cream, and now I hardly touch it and eat a few bites instead. It DEFINITELY works in that regard.

It did make me very faintly nauseated the first time I tried it, but I think my body was adjusting - plus I hadn’t eaten anything for like, 9 hours straight. So it stands to reason the effects would have been enhanced. Also, the nausea was so slight I wouldn’t have noticed had I not been paying very close attention to the effects on my body.

I would agree with their claims of elevated mood levels and increased energy as well, however, this is just an impression I get - I have no proof it’s not a placebo effect.

I haven’t weighed myself, so I can’t attest to their weight loss claims. But my stomach looks vaguely smaller in the mirror. And, honestly, even if I don’t lose any weight, the way I feel coupled with the fact that I’m now happily eating vegetables and fish instead of crap is worth the money by itself.

I’ll try to remember to find this site again if I ever find out I’ve lost weight (or not lost it).

I recognize that what works well for my body may not work for all young women, but it’s been really good for me personally. Good luck!

  46. GuineaPig Says:

To dumbwomen: are you denying the possibility that a pill or herb or some scientific discovery can make weight loss easier?

I firmly believe a lot of women who say things like ‘the only way to lose weight is to eat less, move more’ pretty much just don’t understand. I’m sure a lot, though not all, are fairly skinny themselves and believe fat people bring it all on themselves.

My mom has been eating basically lettuce for 4 months now and has lost 15 pounds. She’s always gotten plenty of exercise (black belt, marathon runner, home projects) but the weight just refuses to come off. Don’t assume that everyone who’s fat or can’t lose weight is lazy or overeats.

Show some respect for people who are trying to better themselves. You wouldn’t scorn a kid who needed to pay for all kinds of math tutoring, claiming the only way to learn algebra was to do his homework and stop slacking. So don’t give us all this grief for trying various things and coming onto websites to hear about other people’s experiences.

  47. DumbWomen Says:

guineapig, No I’m not denying that. If you ask me the best aid to weight loss is a mini trampoline! If you’re talking about nutrition, lots of things can aid metabolism or boost energy allowing you to exercise more strenuously for longer such as caffeine. But an aid to weight loss is not the same as a magic pill/ patch. A magic patch/pill is appetite suppression…people think they can bypass any attempt at changing their lifestyle (food choice and exercise) by just taking a pill. If you want to suppress your appetite, just take eat more protein.

But its still the problem that people are still in denial about what greedy fat b*stards they are, E.g “I’m a sugar addict…I used to eat an entire pint of ice cream.” And the fact you say your mom has been eating largely lettuce for 4 months and lost 15lbs is further proof…you are what you eat.

A diet is nothing special, its not some magic thing, a diet is just a reduction in calorie in take over a given period of time. You dont need some patch to do that, simply eating your 3 normal size square meals a day but cutting out all the puddings and snacks is the same thing as a lettuce diet or artichoke diet or cabbage diet or whatever the next stupid fad is, its not the lettuce or the artichoke that has some magic ingredient in it, the only thing that really matters is that theres a reduction in calorie intake. You have to make a conscious decision to change your lifestyle (its like smoking, to quit smoking you have to consciously want to change your lifestyle, to me a patch is merely a gimmick, some people try hypnotism or if youre religious…one of the deadly sins is gluttony-that should make you feel guilty when your stuffing your face with Hagen Das. These are all superficial aids, but whatever floats your boat.

  48. skeptical robin Says:

My 21 year old daughter tries the pink patch and lost 6 lbs in the first week and half. So I thought I would give it a whirl. I will let you know haw it goes

  49. Juicy Fruit Says:

Hello all! I have also subscribed to the trial, and it does say in the terms and conditions about the auto billing. I am also using the alli program. I am down 20 lbs in 3 months. Gradual weightloss doesn’t bother me neither do the side effects. Its considered a fat blocker and you have some nastiness coming out of your rear, but it is all laid out for you before you even purchase it. You can avoid the side effects by cutting out the oily greasy food that stores in your body.

I wish I could get my hands on ephedra because that truly helped me after my first 2 children. Now I am 80 lbs heavier than 4 years ago. So it is truly essential that I lose this weight. I am only 4′10 so at 170 i look ginormous. Good luck everyone, I will keep you all posted once I get the patch.

Hhmm… “because I’m a woman…” Wow, I don’t think someone that sexist, ignorant, and uninformed should be allowed to give advice. Men buy into plenty of ads. If they didn’t, there wouldn’t be penis enhancers. Furthermore, if you’re going to obsess about your body, at least better it in its entirety instead of obsessing over one part. Also, I would like to add that your metabolism regulates how many calories you burn, and it will get use to a lowered calorie intake rather quickly. Thus, it will learn to work using the amount of calories its given unless you absolutely starve yourself. (I am not promoting starvation) For this reason I am an advocate for frequent and intense exercise. Just remember your body will get use to any routine. Try to mix things up a bit. Diets are a good idea and can lead to healthier bodies, but it is unrealistic to expect someone to eat right all the time. If you are a realist, and don’t have a superiority complex like our favorite blogger “dumb women”, exercise is an excellent reinforcer. In conclusion to my argument, it is important to know other factors that hinder normal, healthy weight loss, such as, hormonal imbalances, and nutritional deficiencies.

  52. The Pink Patch Says:

I have had great luck with The Pink Patch. I think that if you have not had great luck with weight loss it is worth the try.

  53. Sel Says:

Well I recevied my patch an yes I may be guliable to try these things but I also can not loose my weight I work out at the gym 5 times a week and eat healthy food ( have worked with a personal trainer who has also looked at my food diary) but for some reason the weight just seems to want to stay..

Oh well I await the next option to try !! got to be something out there that can help us.. :o)

  54. sara Says:

This is to sel, there is something else out there go to curvatrim.com i have been taking it for a week now, it is all herbal so you wont be buzzing like some slimming pills that have speed in.
you take one pill before you eat and one before working out, however do not take more than 4 a day.
My partner says i am much more slimmer i have a waist, and my legs look smaller and my bum too. however i am still to weigh myself.

  55. amy Says:

hi i ordered the pink patch trial yesterday cost 1.95, does any1 no how long it takes to get here, and how i cancel, cause really dont want them taking month s supply from my bank???

  56. Nicole Says:

I am 18 years old. I Have always been WAY self conscious about my body. i tried trim spa for awhile…and my stomach felt like it was caving in. So i quit taking it & i felt fine after that. So, i am scared to take a diet pill again. I was interested in taking the pink patch until i found this website and read everyones feedback. Now I want to find a diet DRINK that will work good, while i work out and eat less. Anyone know of anything?

  57. Victoria Says:

I am 40 and about 3 stones over-weight so I decided to give this little pink patch a try, and reserched a lot of info and comments about it on the web.
So far (I am on day 5 of my trial) I have lost about 4lbs and half an inch of my hips and waist with no side effects what so ever, and I feel terrific!!!!!!! My only panic now is I can’t wait to get my 30 days supply!!
After reading lots of comments from different people trying this patch it seems that how it works depends on the individual…However I find the way this patch is marketed is a little worrying as it targets young ladies! But this is certainly not a scam!! My weight has been worrying me for sometime now as it has caused high blood pressure and simply eating healthier have not helped shift the weight! But this patch has taken the edge off my appitite, and given me lots of energy, which I did not have before!
Anyone wanting more info from me can email me or contact me through my website or forum!

  58. patricia Says:

I am on week 2 of the pink patch and I swear I look fatter (almost the bloated look) even though I know I haven’t eaten as much. I haven’t lost even a pound. I haven’t felt ill with it exactly though I haven’t felt well, if you know what I mean LOL. I will stick it out for the month, if for nothing else than to prove it works or doesn’t work, whatever the case might be.

  59. lady k Says:

hey ladies i ordered the pink patch as well, for you ladies who are saying you didn’t know you would be charged, it said that you would be charged each month when placing the order, if you wish to cancel you can call 866-468-3300. i have tried it for 2 weeks and i lost 2 pounds the first week. i also drink lots of water along with it.

  60. mona Says:

no I dont think so,It sends Us searching through your house at night for chocolate and cookies! It turns on the fat storing machine in the fat cells of your body and further, blocks those fat cells from releasing their stored fat.

  61. Lindsey Says:

Well, I decided for funsies to try the free sample and I felt a little less hungry the first two days but each day (i’ve only done it for 3 now) I’ve had digestional issues, felt bloated and crampy, and I have felt not even an ittsy bittsy better mentally. I say it’s crap.

  62. Trial user Says:

    Hey everyone,

I just tried the trail patches for the past week. I’m on the last patch today (6th patch) and I’ve noticed a huge change in the way I eat. I’m not sure its too healthy. I really don’t feel hungry at ALL. except once a day.

Anyway, it’s only to be used for those of you who have big occasions to go and for those who need to trim off a couple pounds quickly ;)

I’d use it again, but would never consider it for a regular routine as a weight loss method.

  63. Dea Says:

hi, thought i would add that i have recently ordered the free trial of the pink patch, and it does actually tell you on the website before you pay that you will automatically receive further supplies billed to your account, i never received the further supplies nor was i charged for them, and i did find when i tried the patch for 6 days i felt better ibn myself, my period was less painful and not as heavy as normal…this has to be a plus….you should measure yourself with a tape measure when you start and at the end instead of using scales as the weight lose is gradual, but it tones your body first so the scales will not tell you how much firmer your tummy is…i am just about to order my next full months supply, and am pleased with the results i experienced, although i diod only lose a couple of pounds its slow and healthier than loosing stones, i felt slimmer, looked slimmer and i did feel more energetic and didn’t feel the need to pick at unhealthy snacks throughout the day either…..thats my opinion anyway, i’m sure it will have different effects on different people.

  64. Diana Says:

Hi, all! I tried the pink patch for a trial period, but I could not do all six patches, because I started feeling that somehting was wrong with my body. So I stopped using it! I do not have my regular periods (never had this problem before) already for a week. I even went and bought a pregnancy test, but it’s negative. So I think it is the pink patch to blame for my missed periods….feel so scared!

  65. Nicole Lamont Says:

I have been using the patch for about 3 weeks now. I don’t feel a difference at all! I have not lost any weight, even with a good work out program, and my mood has not changed at all. I am sorry to say that I spent a lot of money for nothing. I hope you don’t make the same mistake.

  66. kathy Says:

    Hi
I started using the pink patch about 2 weeks ago and have lost 3lbs.
I dont feel like eating at all
and have to force myself to eat.

  67. Susan Says:

Hello all, I’m 17 and last year I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism among other things having this disorder makes me put on vast amounts of weight I’m 5′7 and weigh 190 pounds! I walk a mile a day and exercise one hour a day as well as swimming once a week and still have not lost weight even on my prescription I have not lost weight, though I have stopped gaining it.
I’m considering getting the pink patch But I am wondering if it will mess up my condition does anyone know if it will? Does anyone have any other suggestions to loosing weight apart from healthy diet and exercise, because I already do these.

  68. Laura Says:

Half the way these ‘miracle’ diet pills/patches/drugs work is because in the first week or two, you probably will lose a couple of pounds. But after that, there won’t be anywhere near as much weight loss.

Basically, when your body gets less energy in from food, it starts to break down the energy it has already stored in your body. The stores are called glycogen, and they’re a long chain of molecules. Caught up inside all that is water, and that’s where the weight loss comes from - not fat being burned - its just water that your body releases.

So if the first week goes great for you, don’t get fooled into thinking that the pounds will keep shedding themeselves. I get that it’s hard for loads of people to fit in exercise in a busy life, but it’s the only way that will work long term.

And eating just lettuce? Not a good plan. Your body NEEDS fat and NEEDS calories and protein and all the stuff in a healthy, balanced diet. It even needs salt and other things you wouldn’t think of - iron? zinc? Ok so not much, but it needs them. Eating too much of anything is horribly bad for your body, and there are a million websites on how to get a proper, healthy diet to lose weight properly.

It’s just a shame there’s 10 million devoted to trash like the pink patch.

  69. becki Says:

in regards to you comments about the pink patch, i saw the advertisemen on facebook and also saw that there wa a free trail availble ith a charge of £1.95 p&p so thought i would try this, they then never confirmed my order, and took 40.00 from acc! i tried calling them and was on hold for ages then recieved a e-mail rely from them tosay that they had refunded me, i have still not recieved the refund 2days later and have recieveda e-mail to say that they have sipped the order and the company policy states ones a order is shipped they will not acsept returns or refund any one. I am really angry about this because i dont know if they are going to refund me. Its a total scam

  70. Hilary Says:

I’m amazed, after all the negative (and probably correct)comments The Beauty Brains makes about the Pink Patch, they have an advert for it on their site! Talk about hypocritical.

  71. thebeautybrains Says:

    Hilary,

The Beauty Brains use automatic scripts for advertising so if there are Pink Patch ads, we are not controlling it.

But on a more philosophical level, even if the Pink Patch people asked to advertise on the Beauty Brains, we would let them. We see nothing hypocritical about it at all.

We are not here to tell you WHAT to think. We are here to give you information which allows people to make up their own minds. You have to think for yourselves!

If we bash a product, tell people it is a waste of money and they still go off and buy it, we feel no guilt about it. We’ll take the advertiser’s money because it allows us to continue to get the word out and to help people to think before being suckered into buying worthless products.

    Where’s the hypocrisy?

  72. tomato Says:

I ordered the pink patch free trail because it was only £1.95 P&P. It was then I came to know about the automatic re-oredering and charging my bank account for the next months supply clause. I immediately called up and cancelled the order. However, ten days later I got charged £40 and a months supply was posted out to me. I called up again and was asked to send it back. I spent £1.24 on recorded delivery. It has been a week and I still have not got my money back. Teh company is still looking into matters for me.

This experience has left a nasty impression. I am now not going to use any product from a company that has such vicious charging policies. The product must be so bad that they have to resort to such bluff marketing !!

I have lost almost £45 in this scam but I know in future to never order something that looks so simple and easy:)

and BTW pink patch is useless and had no effect on me whatsoever.

The Pink Patch does NOT work…Ive tried it for the past 3 months and have only gained weight. Also, Im allergic to the adhesive they use on the patch which is very strange because it takes alot to irritate my skin like this does.

I have been using it for a month, and I´ve lost 15 pounds!! im getting it again next month until I loose 10 more pounds! girls trust me it works!!

  78. Chloe Says:

It makes you drink a lot of water too, but I feel better than ever and I look slimmer!! :)

  79. Megan Says:

I am 19, well almost 19 and ever since I was in the 3rd grade I’ve been heavy. Oh its not just fat mind you I have muscle, but society being the way it is I have been trying all kinds of weight controlers and diet pills, I am a little taller than 5′5″ and weight roughly 195, I swim 4-5 days a week for almost 2 hours or so and run all the time (I’m a swimmer, born and bred, I love being in the water) so I know that im not totally unhealthy and that far ‘out of shape’ but I really would like to lose the fat that seems to have centered around my tummy, butt, and thighs. The sit ups, crunches, and squats only do so much.

I have read about the Pink Patch and the Bee Lean Extreme from here and other sites and I just wanted to ask those on the Bee Lean, does it really actually work? I know that there is no miracle pill but a little help/boost to getting rid of this chub would really be nice.

    Any thoughts?

  80. friend of a friend Says:

I just ordered the pink patch today. I have a problem with hypothyroidism as well, and have not been able to lose weight after having my three kids. My metabolism is so messed up and even going to the gym 5 days a week and having a job where I’m very active and not sitting for at least 7 hours at a time doesn’t help me lose weight. I was rotating diet pills just for the energy to keep up with my kids and work.
I only ordered this because a friend in the uk actually was part of some study, she paid nothing for it and did not expect anything to happen, she didnt really care much about it and was shocked when she actually did lose weight. Everyones body is different, so it may not work for me, but i spend a fortune on other diet pills all the time anyway. I will have to look into the automatic billing, I think it only does that when you sign up for the free trial, but if you are actually buying a longer term amount it may not… I did not see anywhere that it asked me to check a box or anything to agree to any sort of terms whatsoever…
