I really don't care what you use, but use pantene if you want to your hair will eventually have alot of split ends, I have seen the results in my salon at what these product does to the hair. I have also done research on it salon products and different shampooo sold on the market. Why don't you show the proof about what you have done between salon products and pantene. Cosmetologist for 20 years.

Pantene used to be a reliable product. The new and improved versions leave fine hair feeling waxy and sticky. I noticed my hair falling out after using pantene . Once I switched shampoo the problem resolved itself. I have friends that have the same complaint and found once they switched shampoo their hair quit falling out also. I would suggest using a good clarifying shampoo and vinegar rinse for a week or two to remove any remaining residue on your hair and scalp. Then use a clear shampoo without added conditioner and use a separate conditioner just on the end of your hair not on your scalp if your hair is damaged.

I have ALWAYS, had so much hair. It was healthy, thick and dense. Most hair clips would not work on me because I had so much hair! Last year my hair started falling out at an alarming rate, It scared me to death, Thought I had some kind of fatal disuse.
My Doctor thought it might be my thyroid. All the test and blood work came back normal. Doctor said check your hair products. My husband, sister and one niece, all Pantene users, have also lost their hair at an alarming rate. There is no baldness on either side of our families. Both my parents and his parents, had a full head of hair well into their seventy's. My hair is so sparse now, I am considering buying a wig. This week found this possible link with Pantene use and hair loss. I hope it is the Pantene. That would be a easy fix . . . just stop using it! If all of us in my family discontinuing using Pantene and the hair loss stopped that would be great. But will the hair grow back?

@Claire - Silicones contain silicon which is derived from sand. Waxes and plastics are made from hydrocarbons (derived from either petroleum or natural sources).

They are not in the same "family".

Silicone is in the same family as waxes and plastics, and it is coating your hair with these over time. Certain hair types and conditions make some people more susceptible to this than othersI question the impartibility of this website.
