I am a free lance makeup artist, and to be honest, I'm a little bit over the hype associated with cosmetics. It's all in the brand reputation and packaging. I make my own foundations out of moisturiser (one for dry, one for combination and one for oily...and the end result depends on the quality of the moisturiser) and mineral makeup powder. I use monistat gel as a primer, and use a dusting of loose mineral powder to finish. My clients ask where they can get hold of this lovely makeup and are shocked when I tell them what it is. Stop spending a fortune on foundation girls...you are being ripped off! The companies are going to hate me!

I love Sheer Miracle SPF 30 Mineral Foundation. Its ingredient list is identical to Bare Minerals Matte Foundation at a much lower price. Available at www.SheerMiracle.com and at Amazon.com

I have recently started using Laura Mercier's Mineral Make-up, and I think that it is far superior to any other Mineral I have used. The colour (Real Sand, I have light skin, and Candlelight for brightening), leave a flawless, beautiful finish, and do not 1. make my skin break out, which it does at the slightest impurity, and 2. stays on without getting clumpy and nasty. I have personally fallen in love with this product, and don't really plan on ever using anything else. On a side note, for some reason the Mineral Blush did not work for me, the colours just did not look right, and I have several friends who agree that the blushes are not that great. I am still looking for a good light cheek colour if anyone knows?

It all depends on what kind of Mica they use. Serecite Mica will make you look gray when your skin gets very oily. All Mineral Makeup is just like other regular makeup that you can buy anywhere. One that works for her might not work for you.

I have a very oily, sensitive and acne prone skin so I am really spending my time creating MIneral Makeup that will suit this type of skin. Try my Try using my Ultimate Loose Mineral Foundation. Free samples are available for you to try. I will be creating more color in the near future. I hope this help
