Hey everyone! Sarah Bellum here doing a little mobile blogging from the mall. Look what I just saw – a vending machine that sells Proactiv acne products! That just made me wonder, have any of you in the Beauty Brains community ever bought beauty products out of a machine? You can leave a comment; I’m on my way to Victoria’s Secret!

No I haven’t. Its bad enough buying cosmetics from the drug store where you can’t try them out. Its even worse if you have to check it out from the other side of the glass of a vending machine. Talk about having to guess about what color it is!
I certainly wouldn’t buy Proactive products, but I might buy something else just for the novelty of it.
I actually posted a picture up of this on the forum a long time ago. It’s soo convenient. My sister wanted to get ProActiv for her boyfriend to try, I walked by this at the mall, and without getting fussed over by any sales associate, I got exactly what I needed.
I’m not inclined to spend that kind of money on anything without thoroughly researching it first, and vending machines are supposed to be for impulse purchases… it doesn’t strike me as a particularly good sign that this is being marketed that way. It reminds me far too much of the fact that while I know tons of people who have *tried* ProActiv, I know nobody who still uses it!
I have two teenage daughters who make me go into the mall to buy the proactive from the vending machine beacause they are afraid that they will be seen by someone from school.
far from buying i am surprised to see this kinda vending machine even exist….!!
I would definitely get something like this from a vending machine. Because is it me, or does buying acne products make everyone stare at your skin?
I have seen this at the mall- large open center court area. I’d rather go to a dept store or drug store where one teller may see me buying stuff rather than everyone passing me by while I fumble with cash/cards and buttons on a vending machine-lol!
Wow, that is very interesting! I might buy skincare products from a vending machine, if it was something I already loved. Now if it was lipstick I would probably impulsively buy that.
I’ve bought condoms from a vending machine, once. Talk about having a lot to lose. Buying acne cream seems trivial. Not to say what you blog about is trivial, well ok it’s about as trivial as it gets.
That just depends on your perspective. The way people look is not trivial to most of the world.
I am familiar with Pro Activ products because I’ve used their products on and off for years now. I think this is a great idea. It’s convenient. Also, I really don’t care who sees me buying the products.
I have been a ProActiv user since high school. I never really followed the steps religiously to get the perfect result (which I should have, I have now permanently scarred my skin recently…yay for impulsive popping). Anyway, I love the fact that I can now go to the mall and buy the product right when I need it instead of having to order it online and wait for it to get to my house.
I know for some people it may cause embarrassment, but to be honest…I’d rather have people stare at me and think I’m a freak for wanting to buy a treatment product instead of not buying it at all.
I have tried OTC products like Clearasil, Neutrogena, Noxema, and the few others that sit on the shelves, and even though I love the scents to products, they just did not work for me. I’ve even tried Mary Kay, which I am thinking about switching back to, but we’ll see.
I have and still do use proactiv. When I’ve been out, I’ve purchased it from the vending machine. Convenient.
