I have really kinky african hair. the bodiphier didn't straighten my hair at all. it kinda relaxed it but it still stood straight up on top of my head, an afro, which is what I began with. For that I coulda just got an afro blow out kit for 6 bucks at sallys. a huge waste of money and the packaging is sloppy. they put it in a ziplock bag which leaked out before I was ready to use it. it smells strong just like a regular relaxer. waste of money and disappointing. I just ordered my phytolaxer. We will see . . .

I'm about to make my second purchase today. Here is my opinion on the company & the results.
This is a small company and they do need to make some improvements on customer service and the packaging of this product. My problem was due to the poor packaging the oil and shampoo spilled out and mixed deeming it to be unusable. However when they did get back to me (4days) it was to apologize for the inconvenience and to let me know they shipped my replacements. To my surprise the replacements were full size instead of the samples that come with the kit. As for the product if you’re expecting it to relax hair exactly like the usual perm you will be disappointed. I like this system because it makes hair manageable without all the side effects of a perm (no burning, sores etc.) It gives hair more of a pressed look if you use the rest of the products with it. I started to use this product on my daughter’s hair to keep her new growth straight as her old relaxed hair grows out. I spent $95 at a salon for my daughter to have her hair relaxed last Easter. The hair dresser left my daughter unattended with the perm in her head saying to let her know if it started to burn! In turn my daughter suffered chemical burn in multiple areas of her head and severe breakage to the point she is bald on her left temple and now getting scalp injections! Yes we have a lawyer, but he can't make hair that was once down her back return. This has been one of the best products on the market that has brought some ease to my daughter’s situation. I purchased 2 kits on my first order and It’s a fraction of the cost paid to a professional that didn't behave as such. If you want to be able to flip back & fourth between a pressed/straight look or a natural look this would be the product. Just keep in mind the results vary depending on the texture of your hair in its natural state. I was satisfied with my daughters hair to the point that I used the 2nd kit on my own. Today I'm buying it for both of us. :-)

My 11 year old has very tight curls in auburn. Helped her apply Bodipier and wrap with warm towels (more effective than blow drying the plastic cap-left product on xtra 10 minutes. No discernable change in curl. :( Big disappointment. I knew company would not offer refund (has no guarantee.) $ave yourself the trouble.
