I've never heard of the idea that sunscreens prevent moisture from penetrating the skin. Do you have a scientific study that you could refer us to?

Actually, I don't recommend using a moisturizer with SPF at night.
When we sleep, our body goes into a "recovery" mode, which means any moisturizers applied to skin works much better. Sunscreen prevents moisture from penetrating the skin, therefore reduces the effects of your products. So, when you use a moisturizer at night with SPF, it works less than one without.

Thanks for asking this, Jamie! I've been wondering the same thing lately, since money's limited and I don't want to buy two lotions!

Is it just me, or does it seem like most of the time my moisturizers with SPF just aren't as moisturizing as ones without? I've been using separate sunscreen and moisturizer for this reason, but if I found one that could do both, I'd be in business!
