@Carmen – this is a great point! I find many companies use way too much packaging. Apple computer is possibly the worst offender.

It is understandable that not everything can be put in biodegradable packaging but Olay could certainly do something about their over-packaging!!I have quit buying their product for that reason.

I wish that cosmetic companies would use biodegradable outer cartons – or none at all. The amount of boxes and inner wrappings I throw away are ridiculous!

I suppose they claim to be the first because I guess technically they’ve made the first biodegradable jar, while the PlantLove lipstick was the first biodegradable tube… on their website it says “celebrating the world’s first biodegradable jar”.
Anyways, biodegradable packaging? If it works for a product, awesome.
