How Anyone Can Get Beautiful Without Cosmetics

Hey everyone,

Here’s an interesting story I saw about a new beauty machine that makes anyone look beautiful. No chemicals or cosmetics needed!

Sounds great, right?

Unfortunately, it only works on pictures, not actual people. But who hasn’t taken some terrible pictures in their lives? Those days may be over.

Math and Beauty

What really struck me was that beauty is not nearly as subjective as we think. There are certain spacing ratios of the nose, chin and distance from ears to eyes, that make one person look better than someone else. To get the mathematical definition of beauty, the scientists took a group of men and had them rank pictures of women for attractiveness. They put those numbers in their computer and came up with some algorithm for correlated physical features and beauty ratings.

The inventor sounds like more of a nerd than Louis Skolnick based on this quote.

“For us, every picture in this research project is just a collection of numbers.”

People are just numbers?

Beauty Benefits

They think the real benefits of this technology will be to help plastic surgeons better visualize people after having a procedure. Of course, it’ll also be useful for distorting celebrity and model photos in magazines to make everyone feel even more insecure about the way we look.

Nice going guys.

What do you think of the beauty machine? Would you rather have all the pictures you take show the perfect you or the real you? Leave a comment and let us know.

Apparently, people aren’t numbers — just women. I never trust studies like this that only measure one half of the species.
