I've got a lot of hair and not a lot of cash!!

This post reminded me of an art/craft form popular in the 1800s, making jewelry and decorative objects from human hair. People made them as mementos of loved ones, especially those who had died. I think they used long hairs which they got from hairbrushes. Google "Victorian hair art" for sites with pictures of some of these pieces. AND I found a website of a woman who currently makes and sells hair art, victorianhairart.com.

Help your own plants! No need to send it off to be made into mats. Save the shipping costs and packaging by tossing it into your compost pile, or placing it directly around your plants.
