Here at the Beauty Brains, we believe that if you’re not innovating, you’re becoming irrelevant.  That’s why we thought we’d try a new feature.  We hooked Sarah Bellum up to a microphone and gave her a question to “perform”.

Take a look at this short video and let us know what you think.

  1. T Says:

That sounded like a poor reading of a written article. Voice reporting should be more dynamic and not sound so rehearsed. And maybe seeing who is takling would make it more personal and interesting. Otherwise, why do a video?

Thanks for your feedback. Ouch! Have to work on my delivery.

We’re just experimenting and hoping we improve. Since the Beauty Brains is anonymous this was just one idea we had. We want to do some audio and video content, but still maintain a level of anonymity. Not sure if that will be possible.

    Thanks again.
    Sarah

I want to see real before and after pictures of the lips with the lip plumpers. Also, you have a major misspelling – Do Lip Plumper Really Work?

The images were all ones I’ve seen before and not really relevant.

  4. Ann Says:

To be honest, I prefer text because I read the Beauty Brains in my Google Reader, and the video doesn’t show up. I have to click through, and frankly sometimes won’t. I also read faster than anyone can speak clearly, and prefer to skip any audio that I can get in text.

This might all be just me, though.

  5. Janis Says:

Same here regarding text — I’m on lynx at the moment, and prefer text or a transcript for that reason.

There’s also ADA considerations, although it’s not a legal thing. Text is accessible to everyone no matter their level of hearing.

  6. Andrea Says:

I love the beauty brains column, however I currently use on RSS feed and read it on my mobile phone. I also much prefer the text based format!

  7. BeautyGuerrillas Says:

Ooooh great! I love this new feature – sorry to be the odd one out! I think it makes things much more personal and friendly :)

  8. Sarah Bellum Says:

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Just so you know, we weren’t looking to replace the current text-based content. We were just going to experiment with a video/audio component.

  9. Karen Says:

I’m definitely a fan of the text version. Sarah is great but I prefer to read her opinions (and antics!) than listen to her reading a designated script.

  10. Jalus Says:

    Thanks Sarah,

I’ve tried them all ~ from the drug store brand to the $50.00 ~ and they are not worth the money period.

  11. Jess Says:

Perhaps including a transcript on the post would be helpful for those of us who prefer/need to read the column. That way you can continue experimenting, but we can still get the interesting content we desire.

  12. Star Christian Says:

Try “LipFusion XL” and their other products. It’s not irritating because it does not use cinnamon or other irritants. I have been using it since it was first introduced and the results are noticeable after one use, but to get results long term, you must use it everyday. It contains hyaluronic acid microspheres which are small enough to penetrate into the lips and plump the cells. It does have a warming sensation when first applied, but it’s because the lips are plumping up. I LOVE IT!!!

Great ! I will add this to my bookmarks. TY
