I am in a management training program at work so I am looking for a way to supplement my income in the meantime. I am thinking about getting in on one of these direct sales gigs and Votre Vu is one of the companies I have been considering.

First, I have a question for Lefty: I understand being cautious about direct sales/marketing but do you have any specific reasons for being cautious about this company in particular? Or about direct sales cosmetics companies in general? I'm just trying to cover all the bases and make sure that I am not considering entering into something that would make me inordinately susceptible to scams or general B.S. Are your doubts based more on the quality (relative to price) of the products or on the overall operations of the company?

I have known people who dabbled in Arbonne and Mary Kay sales and they never seemed to have very much success but I always thought that was due to the lack of quality and/or marketability of the products. I don't expect to make loads of money from this venture but I would like to do something that is worth the trouble, therefore I am looking for products that consumers will be excited to purchase. The "look" of Votre Vu products seems more profitable to me than many of the other direct sales cosmetics products I have seen. While this may not speak to the quality of the products (which is what this particular thread is addressing) it does make a difference in profitability, in my opinion. So, basically, Votre Vu has my approval on one end of the spectrum but I am trying to determine whether they have the quality to back up the image. My definition of quality involves how well the product works as well as how eco friendly/toxin free the products are. Words like "simple", "natural", and even "organic" are thrown around willy nilly these days so I am anxious to find some detailed info on these products. I looked for the company on Skin Deep (http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/) but I couldn't find anything. I would be willing to spend more on the product if it is cruelty free, safe (toxin-free), and works well. This would also make me feel much better about selling it. I have never been a fan of Olay products, market standard or not, and I have found that the more pricey stuff usually works a good deal better for me (makeup, skin care, hair care). I have been living the life of a broke college student who can only afford the cheap Walmart stuff for a while now and I can definitely tell the difference between my low end face wash and my Origins Checks and Balances (which is apparently moderate to high in toxins, much to my dismay).

Anyway, I am probably going to go forward and try to become a Votre Vu consultant but I would like to test out some of the products first. If anyone wants to send me some samples, feel free to email me :) Otherwise I will have to wait until my tax return comes in...

To the lady who is on here supporting OLAY products, you should stop! OLAY TESTS ON ANIMALS.
Find a skincare line that is cruelty free! Stop supporting murder and torture. Every single time you buy a product from Olay you are responsible for the blood of a beautiful creature.

I am certainly confused as to why a commentary on a skin care line would review eye makeup remover and hair conditioner as its standard for the line's skin care products. This article smells a little fishy and biased to me. I am not a consultant and not even a customer yet....just a sin care junkie and frankly I am disappointed in your objectivity.

As with most people on here, I am also a consultant with Votre Vu. I went to school for makeup and skin care about 10 years ago and since then I had been looking for a skin care that I loved. I always liked a few things from each line but nothing got me excited and I never saw any results. My skin just stayed the same (very dry!). I had learned in school that the French knew what they were doing in skin care. When I was first introduced to Votre Vu, I was hesitant. I didn't like the price and I didn't believe that it was actually MADE in France. After doing some research, I discovered the truth. After getting my products (cleanser and toner for my first purchase), I was hooked! The price is totally reasonable for what you get. This isn't product you will find at Target so the prices are a bit higher but I ask you this...Can you put a price on keeping your skin healthy? I can't. I have been doing the same skin routine for 10 years now and now that I am using Votre Vu, I am seeing results. My skin is no longer dry. These products last longer than most too because a little goes a long way.
I became a consultant and love what I do. Feel free to check out my site on Votre Vu and helpful skin care tips (makeup too).

I have a friend that used to sell Votre Vu and I really liked the hand lotion with a lip balm built in (genius!) and really wanted to use the products however I just couldn't after trying the samples. My skin was quite problematic ever since I had kids so it could have been my hormones.

Since then, I've switched to all natural, organic products i.e. no parabens or any toxic ingredients and have noticed my skin has improved tremendously! Although I will say that I've tried a lot of organic brands and not all of them worked or just wasn't quite right for my skin. I know people that really liked Votre Vu and some people's skin aren't bothered by parabens, etc. so I think with any skin care, it is always best to sample the products, especially when these are available and free, and see if they work for you, stick with them but if they don't work, there are a lot of all natural, organic options.

These days, I'm very passionate about helping women that are battling with adult acne because I've been there and it's just awful when you're constantly breaking out and nothing seems to work. If this sounds like you, click on my name above which will take you to my website, where you can learn more about these amazing all natural, organic skin care products from a company that I'm currently representing. The samples are FREE and if you are having issues with your current products, just sign up as a free client on my website, and I will send you a free 5-day sample. I know you will love it!

Again, it's all natural and organic, there's absolutely nothing toxic in it. The company is a signer of the Safe Cosmetics Campaign and all the ingredients are listed on the website with each product.
