So far as I have been reading about diet VS acne, they are not quite related. Food high in hormone (result from steroid injection to the animals) in like Milk & chicken or beef might have some affects on skin but it's not very clear. However, based on my personal experience, I think eating red meat like beef can make my skin worse. I broke out in big cysts when I enjoyed eating beef 2 years ago. So then I studied more how to take a good care of my oily skin & a balance diet, I stopped eating beef & pork. My skin got a lot better. On the other hand, I believe in Chinese Buddhist that our appearance somehow can reflect our karma. Since I've stopped eating meat, my complexion & appearance looks much better too. Some coworker asked if I went for the beauty surgery because I look much better than before. But actually I never do.

If you look at Asian cultures, their diet is mostly vegetables and they use meat as flavoring.

There are micronutrients in meat/animal protein that can't be found in vegetable sources. Western science doesn't know everything about food and nutrition. Westerners do not eat insects. Insects have micronutrients and protein that can be used by the human body to maintain health. But, because Westerners see insects as "gross" they aren't included in the diet.
Bush people, hunter-gatherers eat a combination of root vegetables, greens, flowers, fruits, birds, small reptiles, insects and larger grazing game animals.
Strict vegetarians suffer B-vitamin deficiencies -- proof that this diet is not balanced.
You don't have to eat meat with every meal, but a little animal protein, once or twice a month, is good for over all health.
