Hair makes a good plant fertilizer – TRUE

26% of you thought this was a “hairy” tale but it isn’t. According to this report on wired science, human hair can be made into a fertilizer that helps furnish plants with needed nutrients.

Lettuce grows just as well when human hair is used as fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizers. 

Asian hair is the easiest type to simulate on computers – FALSE

This one got the most votes at 31% and you are all correct. We made this up. What is true is that Asian hair is the most difficult to simulate on computers. The reasons scientists say is because it is extremely black and shiny.

All natural hair colors come from 2 pigments – TRUE

This one only tripped up 19% of you. Everyone’s natural color is formed by two different versions of the melanin pigment. Eumelanin makes the dark colors as in black and brunette hair. Phaeomelanin is more prevalent in red heads and blonds.

Some 80-year-olds have no gray hair – TRUE

24% of you thought this couldn’t be true but according to this story from the Daily Mail, it is. Ron Williamson is 80 years old and doesn’t have any gray hair on his head. He reportedly doesn’t color.
