Laura is lackluster on Origins… I went with a friend to an Origins skin care boutique and had a hard time maintaining a straight face what with all the “…after you rinse it it, the antioxidants are activated to…” and “…it can’t hurt you, it’s organic and natural…”. Thank goodness I read your blog! But, I can only find one review and lots of negative comments with it. Is it really that bad? Are all of their products irritating? And do antioxidants really open your pores to cleanse out the bad stuff as they say?
The Left Brain :
While Origins skin care might have some ingredients in it that have irritation potential, I doubt they are any more irritating than most other personal care products. Companies do safety testing on products and have minimum irritation scores that they must achieve before they are launched onto the market.
So…
1. Origins is not as bad as the comments you’ve read. (There is a negative bias)
2. Origins is not likely more irritating than most other products you can buy.
3. NO, antioxidants will not open your pores and clean out the bad stuff. This is complete marketing BS. That’s not how antioxidants work. Read this post to understand what antioxidants really do (or don’t do!)

Hey Lefty – did you use this picture on purpose because it’s Darwin’s 200th birthday? (I heard that on the Skeptics Guide to the Universe.)
I use Origins and have been for the last 6 months. I love it. My face does not feel irritated or tight after washing it. I will never try anything else. I have less breakouts using it…
