The only logic I see in this advertisement is if one was deciding to buy it anyway. 

If I wasn&#039;t interested in the product with this type of special, my cynicism would kick in and figure it as a marketing trick. 

But if I knew I was going to get the product (let&#039;s say a favorite conditioner), it would be a boon to me to just the an extra and have it on standby until I was ready to use it.
