I should have been more specific when I said that store brands use that wax... 

They use candelilla wax if they&#039;re going to use any... and I wanted to make it clear that only SOME do this...

It is also used in pomades, lotions, skin care, lip balms, etc...

It is a substitute for carnuba and shellac... 

I also want to say that the use of the wax itself isn&#039;t the problem... it&#039;s relying on it in heavier quantities to do the job of a higher grade silicone or an essential oil that becomes the problem... it&#039;s too coating and too heavy on it&#039;s own to do anything but sit on the hair...
