I have some 10 year old facial scars and started using palmer’s cocoa butter formula cream a week back. The scars are getting lighter now..

I had surgery on my foot in Nov 2010 and spent 3 weeks in a cast. I used Bag Balm on it until the scabs came off. I get massage done at physical therapy and at home I massage myself with Palmer’s Cocoa Butter lotion. 7 wks post op I am starting to notice parts of the 4in scar getting lighter. I am pretty confident by summer I will be sporting a barely noticeable scar and some cute sandals.

Alright, I may be an idiot for doing this in the past.. But I have these scars I have given myself. I will not get into detail, unless I have to. Anyways, I recently enlisted into the Marines, and my recruiter just told me that I may be kicked out for having these scars. I should be more nervous than I am now, but I was just wondering if any of these treatments may work.. I am having a hard time finding information on how long these things take to work. I am not in any hurry, but it’d be nice to know when anything work..

My best results have been with fresh aloe vera. Buy the plant at a local health store, cut in in the middle and apply the gel directly onto the new scar. I used it right after the cut healed and it worked amazingly. Please make sure to protect new scars from the sun. I am not sure how it would work with an old scar. There is also an oil from S. Africa, sold in pharmacies in the US, called bio oil (http://www.bio-oil.com) which is said to also work wonders with scars (reco by make up artists).
