Hey everyone! It’s the Right Brain here back from a month of working on our new book with the Left Brain. We’ll start answering questions again but we still have some more work to do on the book, so please be patient. Mid Brain will continue to help us out with cosmetic science news articles as necessary.
In the meantime, you may have noticed that we’ve updated the look of our website. We had a design company create a unique, custom template for us and then we had all the website code re-written. We’re still getting some of the bugs worked out of the system, but here are the top 10 best things about our new blog design. Enjoy!

Honestly? I don’t like it. The old design was easier to read, not so much white blinding me, and loaded faster.
What white? The old design was terribly blinding: the whole thing was white. It was so bad that I made my own Stylish code for migraine days.
Well I can delete it now because this looks great. Very sleek and modern–much more suitable to the cause, plus it doesn’t scroll for ages. The old design was dated so it was definitely time to move on. ^_^
The big white boxes in the middle of all the pink. Defiantly not migraine sufferer friendly.
And still takes forever to load for me. Even with clearing my cache and rebooting. Old design was more user friendly for me.
Ah. I think you have much higher contrast than me, those boxes are a rather pale for me. You might want to check your brightness/contrast settings. I always have mine set low in anticipation of painful brightness.
There are all kinds of reasons it loads slow–your network, their servers, your browser, their site traffic. No telling. It loads quickly for me, but I tried it on Chrome and it took considerably longer. Maybe try another browser? It might speed up everything!
Sorry, I’m not really a fan of this style of website, and this wasn’t the first that I’ve seen to do it. It just makes me want to skip over everything that’s not on the feature box!
I think it looks great, but the box with the “Recent Comments” doesn’t have enough contrast – the reversed type isn’t bright enough or heavy enough to easily read. Also, this is really picky, but most sites have a much smaller link to the Facebook & Twitter pages – yours are pretty, but don’t think they need to be so big
Stopped reading the website because the new layout so user unfriendly.
@CVS – so sorry to see you go. Hopefully, you’ll subscribe through the RSS feed so you can still get the information.
Agree with majority of comments that this redesign is MUCH harder on eyes, brain, etc. So much for “new design is always better.”
i think the old design is better. please back the old design!!!
