Eva asks…What kind of glue is fake eyelash glue?
The Right Brain Replies:
Eyelash glue is typically made from the same kind of ingredients as rubber cement.
Sticky situation
For an example, look at this ingredient list for Headcover’s Eyelash Adhesive:
Water, Rubber Latex, Cellulose Gum, Bentone LT, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Methylparaben, Amommounium Hydroxide, and Iron Oxides.
Rubber Latex is like rubber cement and it shouldn’t be a problem unless you have a latex allergy!
The Beauty Brains bottom line
If you’re allergic to latex you’d better shop carefully for eyelash adhesives or maybe you should buy a better mascara.

Wow, that’s good to know!
Thanks
Regarding the “Beauty Brains bottom line” on the subject of eyelash glue..
I always appreciate the common sense that is so obviously always applied by the experts on this website. And with regard to this subject, I would agree with the advice that better mascara is the solution for someone uncomfortable with or allergic to the ingredients in false eyelash glue.
And I would not normally bother to comment, but the product you analyzed is from Headcovers. They sell products to cancer patients receiving chemotherapy who are suffering from hair loss. From personal experience I know that it doesn’t matter the mascara you use when you have little to no eyelashes. I considered using false eylelashes, but was concerned that the glue would cause my bare eyelids to become irritated. I was also afraid that without eyelashes, the glue would get into my eyes.
That being said, I’m sure there are survivors out there who used them with great success. A better solution, although probably not available, would be an adhesive that minimizes the risk to the user. Particulary for people who are already at a much higher risk for negative side effects.
Near the end of the bottle, the formula was clumpy and the next day my eyes were badly swollen for 3 days. I had to stay home almost had to go to the emergency room they were so bad. The company told me I had an allergic reaction. I have never been allergic to anything in my life. Terrible product, terrible company. Careful. these are your eyes PS revlon has a great glue.
The eyelash adhesive I am talking about is Headcovers. Don’t use it on your eyes!!!
