According to Inventorspot.com, this summer’s fashion icon won’t be quite so chic. What’s the product? It’s called a UV SunSense bracelet, designed to save your skin – literally.
Too often, we’re prone to just one coat of sunscreen, which won’t help us after a jump in the pool or lots of hours in the sun. Reapplying is usually not high on our list of to-dos. This bracelet is going to change that for us this summer.
It works simply: the next time you’re slathering on sun block, don’t spare the bracelet. Once your original coat has stopped protecting you, the normally purple bracelet will let you know by turning brown. And if your sun time is bordering on obsessive, the bracelet with turn pink to tell you to head inside.
So next time you’re heading to the pool, don’t forget your sunscreen and your UV SunSense bracelet. This summer, they’re going to be invaluable for your fun in the sun.

Thats cool. I’m becoming really obsessive about protecting my aging skin (midlife crisis) with all manner of sunscreen products, so this will go nicely with the other accoutrements of my preoccupation.
I used to have a cap like that wayyy back in primary school. There was a pic of a sun on it, and it would change colour to indicate if the UV was too high to play outside. Sooo… not really that new…
I think you have done a different piece of work.
I use UV Monkey, a little key ring thing, could I try put sunscreen on it too?
It seems that the bracelet doesn’t just let you know when the UV is too intense; it lets you know when your sunblock isn’t protecting you anymore. It strikes me as a simple, elegant, design.
Hm sounds likes a useful idea!
I have one of these from SpaFinder. It works, but I have to wear it more often.
I love these bands and have given them to friends and family all summer. THey are great for children and lets them tell you when its time to reapply sunscreen– much more fun for both of you than chasing them around the pool. I think they are so impoartant I am giving away free samples to the subscribers of my no-nonsense beauty blog. As Beauty Brains points out, there’s alot of silly stuff out there, but UV bands are a great safe and affordable anti-aging tool.
