Diana asks…Do Surface hair straightening products contain formaldehyde? What chemicals do they contain?
The Right Brain replies:
The product contains cysteamine (according to their website. I couldn’t find a complete list of ingredients.)
This chemical reacts with the protein structure of your hair but is safer from a health perspective than the classic Brazilian Straighteners that contain formaldehyde. However, it also doesn’t straighten as well. And, because it chemically reacts with protein, it can damage and weaken your hair to some extent.

I have used it 3 times. My hair is very straight and no blow drying required. No hair damage.
