Goody, the maker of haircare gadgets, has just introduced a new Quik Style brush and comb that are supposed to make your hair dry faster.

Quick dry?

According to their website you can “Go from wet to beautifully styled hair faster than ever! Super absorbent microfiber bristles remove 30% of water as you style*.” (In case you’re interested the “*” means that they got that number based on laboratory testing. And, if you’re paying attention at all to what Lefty and Righty always say, you know that laboratory testing doesn’t necessarily always sync up to the real world.)

Anyway, the comb has a quirky wide tooth design that I kind of like. The brush is sort of like a towel and a brush in one. (In the past I’ve seen products that Lefty said were based on the same super absorbent stuff they use in diapers. But, just a matter of principle, I refuse to rub anything remotely diaper like on my head.) This one is supposedly made with microfibers so I was glad to give it a try.

The double layer of comb teeth helped separate the hair more which made it easier to squeegee out more water. The brush didn’t seem to make any difference at all. I don’t know if it was because the bristles were too small or because it didn’t soak up enough water.  I’ll keeping using the comb but the brush isn’t worth the effort, IMO.

Even though the Beauty Brains don’t do traditional reviews, from time to time we like to share new products that we’re trying. We want you to know that we received free samples in exchange for a mention on our blog and that we’re not necessarily recommending you buy anything. We’re just sharing new product news; please do your own research before you buy.

Too bad. It looked promising!

I always thought this would end up growing bacteria of some sort. You know, wet conditions and the sort. Would it or not? Just a thought.

Heck, it’s only $5 and some change at Wally world so I’m going to give it a try. I am a 54 WF (sounds like an ad for the personal section) who has hair loss at warp speed. I figure if i try this brush it may help in not pulling and tearing out more hair than my other hair brush and/or “fro pick.”
