This week we were lucky enough to receive a sample of one of our all-time favorite haircare products.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask leaves hair feeling soft but not heavy at all. According to their website that’s because it contains three key ingredients:

  • Olive for the center of hair.
  • Meadowfoam Seed for the middle
  • Sweet Almond for the surface

While that makes a great marketing story it’s much more likely that this product is so effective because of its use of two advanced conditioning agents: Behentrimonium Chloride Has more of a cushion he feel compared to stearyl or cetyl versions which are typically used. It’s a little more expensive but well worth it. Cyclopentasiloxane gives an excellent wet slip and then evaporates so your hair doesn’t feel weighed down.

The only issue with the product is that it’s packaged in a widemouth jar which makes it easy for shower water to potentially contaminate it. A squeeze bottle would be a much better package.

Even though the Beauty Brains don’t do traditional reviews, from time to time we like to share new products that we’re trying. We want you to know that we received free samples in exchange for a mention on our blog and that we’re not necessarily recommending you buy anything. We’re just sharing new product news; please do your own research before you buy.

I never comment on these things, but I can’t resist – I’ve used a lot of leave-ins (had really long hair), and this is one of the few I return to again and again. The texture is more on the creamy-lotiony side, as opposed to other products that are thicker and don’t spread as well.

Makes hair very soft and smooth but not oily or weighed down. GREAT product, but yes – the packaging needs work. I should know – knocked in to the tub once and lost 3/4s of the jar.
