Ah Vidal Sassoon we knew ye well. How we remember your original cherry-almond scented fragrance!

And you’re back with a new fragrance, new formulas and new packaging and a bunch of new collections: color, moisture, repair, volume, and smooth. There are additional stylers in their hold collection and a permanent home hair color series (which Pantene doesn’t offer.)

Secret Bonus Fact: If you’re a Pantene fan you might want to try these products and save little cash because the formulas are almost identical (at least for the Color Collection.) Just take a look at the ingredients – the shampoo is the same base as Pantene Color Preserve Volume shampoo but Sassoon has betaine and Cocamide MEA added which should provide a richer lather. The VS conditioner has identical ingredients to the Pantene Fine Hair Solutions Moisture Renewal conditioner .

The new Sassoon is $3.49 for 12 ounces while Pantene is $4.99 for 12.6 ounces. You can get the newer product and save!

Sassoon is a funny word!

@Rozy: Almost anything that rhymes with baboon is funny.

I thought sulfates removed color from hair, how can it be a color protecting formula with SLS & SLES?

@Tiffany its magic duh!

@Tiffany: There’s no data showing that sulfates are worse for color loss. All shampoos remove color from hair. Even just water does.

I smelled them in the store today & it’s disappointing they did not leave the original scent. Totally different scent

They have no idea what a huge mistake it is not to bring back the original scent–lots of shampoos work on my hair, but only the original Sassoon had that scent.
