    Thanks for sharing your backstory! I was always curious about the “who” behind the blog. I think you may have talked about this a long time ago, but what kind of qualifications does a cosmetic chemist need?

      You’re welcome Susan! The most common requirement is a degree in chemistry. However many cosmetic scientists have backgrounds in biology, engineering or related sciences. On the job experience is most important in learning the tools of the beauty science trade.

    I’m a high school science teacher in Gainesville, FL and assigned students a biography project. Perry, you are one of the scientists that was assigned. I’ve realized that there isn’t much information on how you got into the industry, where you grew up, etc. Is there a particular publication or website that has more biographical information or would it be possible for a student or two to email you some questions? Thanks in advance!
