Hi! So, I like to use self-tanner on my face instead of actually tanning so I can avoid wrinkles, skin cancer, etc. But another sign of aging that I'm supposed to be avoiding are age spots, right? They look like freckles, etc... Here's my question -- what causes age spots? Is it possible that self-tanning would cause or amplify age spots?! Thank you!!! Love your work!
I was switched as a baby, to people of another ethnicity. It's very obvious we're not related. By about 2 years old, I always had very heavy bangs covering almost half my face. I guess it was to hide me.

At about 8 years old, I started noticing heavier facial hair. It grew from my hairline up until eyebrow level--where my bangs had been covering me. It has never been as thick and long as the rest of my hair, so I can still locate my natural hairline easily.

I have very delicate, sensitive, thin skin. If my heavy bangs had been protecting that area for many years, could it have become hypersensitive? Then when I started to push it aside to show my face, the skin grew baby hairs to protect itself?

What can I do to remove it permanently? Is there herbal medicine that will restore my natural hair patterns?

I think it is a crime to keep a baby that is not yours.

God bless you if anyone can give me professional help, to cure this facial hair and explain how it happened. No silly answers please.

Unrefined Shea Butter. For cleansing I mix a little bit with some Argan oil and some glycerine. Then for moisturizing I mix a little teensy bit with some glycerine. The cosmetic companies are very insistent that their products -- with the "latest and greatest" are best for skin. is this true? What will I miss by using Shea Butter? Will Shea Butter harm my facial skin in any way or cause me to age faster or something? What do the expensive cosmetic lines offer me that I am missing?

I make my own Seasonal cosmetics. For summer I had to come up with a sunblock of course! I used Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide as my active ingredients (in a coconut oil and shea-aloe butter base, it absorbs translucently like a champ). I am wondering how they mass extract/ manufacture these two ingredients, how they work, and are there any side effects of using them daily during the summer. I went to Costa Rica and tested the product out, it passed with flying colors. I am dark olive skinned and barely got a tan! My fiance is pale and prone to burning and he did not show signs of redness at all. We only applied in the morning and did not need to apply the rest of the day, although if we had been in the water and at the beach ALL day I know we would have re-applied.

Hope I didn't ask too much on my first try.
I am curious to know exactly what long term Urea use will do to my face.I use my 20% urea on my face every night and have been doing so for about three months.
I have noticed a difference in my worry lines and the fine lines around my eyes.My questions are;what will this do to the skin on my face in the long term?is it safe to use around my eyes?Is there hormones in it?(i am aware of where it may be derived from, but how would I know if its synthetic?)
If I couple this with glycerin(the label says BP,so I imagine its a by product of something,I know its not vegetable derived)is it dangerous?am I playng mad scientist with the skin on my face?
It feels and looks so good, the pores are finer, lines plumped out but I need to know if I will eventually glow in the dark or thin my skin out beyong repair ?thanks
From what I know, talc is an absorbent for both oil and moisture. Now I don't understand why you would want to put something on your skin that is so absorbent. Doesn't this dry your skin? I would think that it's not good for your skin at all. And what is the point in moisturizing your skin if you're going to put something on top that is absorbing all the oil and moisture? BTW: Her sunscreens are 30% right now. I use two of them myself. One product she pushes that I really don't care for, though, is her lip balm that contains sunscreen. While it says to use it under lipstick, its whitish tint definitely changes the colors of my lipsticks.

Hello all.,

I have gone over the edge of geek-dom and need to get to the bottom of this...

I am currently using Canyon Ranch's products which contain Pro-Nad (as you know...a form of Niacin touted as being studied by the American Cancer Institute).
All three products: Canyon Ranch, NIA 24/7, New Visage claim to have a 5% concentration of PRO-NAD.
Canyon Ranch claims to be the only beauty product containing PRO-NOD...Uh oh, I see a contradiction!!
Am I reading old info still floating around on the web? Is all Pro-NAD created equal? Is Canyon Ranch blowing smoke?
Because guess what...the NIA 24/7 in half the price of Canyon Ranch...so you know where I'm going with this:)

Oh, one more question...how exactly are the molecules of niacin changed. ex: heated until it changes composition, an additive, two mutated niacin molecules mate and have baby Pro-NAD? Could you please explain the technique. As I said...I am going a little geeky here!

Thanks so much!
However, I am not sure what type of foundation to wear. A consultant who specializes in mature skin recommended a mineral powder base and the consultant at the drugstore recommended liquid foundation by Orlane (which just happened to be the most expensive they carried).
I don't like anything too heavy, but the mineral powder doesn't really even out the imperfections much.

hey guys i need your help again!

well basically i went to this thing once it was about women beating (summink like that) and they were giving some freebies out 1 being this really good lip balm ( the stick ones not the pocket size tub ones) and its really good cuz it moisturizes your lips really well, smells soo yummy (like coconut/vanilla) and has this little gloss.

its really good and the one i have is just about to finish i would have gone out and got another 1 but the thing is the lip balm only has the website about the women beating on the lip balm and i have been on the site but found nothing to do with the lip balm.

please help if anyone knows of any lip balms like this in the UK that i can get from stores like Superdrug,Boots, Body care or Wilkinsons.
The lip balm also has SPF 20 in it.

Here are the ingredients if it helps:

Ricinus comminus (castor oil), octyldodecanol, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (octinoxate), polybutene, micocristalline wax, hydrogenated palm oil, cera alba (beeswax), butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane (avobenzone), candelilla cera (euphorbia cerifera), ethyl vanillin, tocopheryl acetate.

Thanks guys i hope you can help me! :)

I have researched different "methods" of cleansing and one of the natural ways I've heard about is the oil cleansing method: http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/. but then i also read that if i have oily skin, i should be using oil-free products. these seem to be in direct contradiction, one saying oil is bad, the other saying oil is good. so which is better?

Dear Beauty Brains,

I've been hearing a lot of noise in forums about flat ironing with oil. They say it will fry your hair much like oil heating in a frying pan. Knowing that not all oils are created equal I was wondering is this true of Olive, Coconut, and Avocado oil? These are my favorite oils and I have been flat ironing with them once a week after a deep condition for the past year and have gained five inches of hair. I have not found any scientific study so far to prove this but for the past month I've been roller setting in fear that this might be true.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing your response.

Kind Regards,

Idrissa

It's WAAAAYY too expensive! Does anyone know about another skin care system that has been compared to Arbonne but is a lot cheaper?
